Ok, just got this laptop and put a new motherboard in it to get it to work.
Here is what inside: Hp Pavillion dv9000 (dv9330us) 17" widescreen with glossy front on it T5300 core 2 duo processor (1.73ghz) I think 2 g's ram nvidia geforce go 7600 w/512 meg's of memory. 320 g hd uj-120 Blu-Ray optical drive nvidia 945 chipset For software I am using the HP quick play software. I think it's the latest version. The OS is Vista Home Premium 32bit Do I have what it takes to play Blu-Ray movies on this thing or do I need something else in order to play these things. I can play regular dvd's with no problem's. It also has hdmi out on it if I plug this into a tv would I get the same problams? I would like this to work please any help would be great. This is also my first post so if this is in the wrong place please let me know. Last edited by Mr.Carty; 06-10-2009 at 02:08 AM. |

it would be quite a feat for that fairly low powered laptop to be able to play blus. the video chip has no HD decoding and the cpu is low powered enough that it would need all the decoding help it can get. sorry to tell you but it just isnt going to get any better on that system

It looks like the only thing I could upgrade is the cpu but if I did you say that I would still have issues due to the graphics card which I don't think I could upgrade. Oh well it was worth a shot. Anyone wanna buy a Blu-Ray drive then? I have no use for one. I tried it out at work (only place I have a unit that takes HDMI) and it did the same thing. The sound is fine it's just the choppy play.
