Upgraded to 4K on iTunes in India.

Same art is on vudu and microsoft in USA currently. Google and Redbox shows a thumbnail with white theme.

Art on Google Play in USA before 4K upgrade:

It appears to be updating in 4k on vudu today. Says it'll be available to buy in about 14 hours from this post.

Just to let everyone know, most prior extras are included (though apparently not the new ones included on the 4K set), as well as two cuts of Godfather III on iTunes for the 4K set, however, be advised, as mentioned elsewhere, the original cut (Director's cut?) of Godfather III is only in HD, not 4K.

Upgraded to 4K on most digital sell-through stores in US now.

Artwork on Google Play is still the same as above.

I don't think that the new bonus features made for the 4K set are included in the iTunes extras in the U.S. store at least (my iTunes copies of Part 1 and Part 2 upgraded automatically in my account). I was specifically looking for the 'Full Circle: Preserving The Godfather' feature this morning and didn't see it.

Since I already had these on iTunes I went to redeem these through Vudu. I stopped after part 1 cause it redeemed HDX not UHD. Has anyone else tried Vudu?

You might be correct. I've just had a look, and didn't see the one you've specifically mentioned, either.

A shame, too, as there are literally hours of special features presented here to enjoy. I don't have my old blu-ray Coppola Collection on hand to compare, but, I'm assuming these features match that, then?

Hopefully, they will eventually add whatever is included on the physical set.

Anyhow, I'll amend my post. Thanks for checking.

Upgraded my copies of the original and part 2. It appears the old version of 3 is NOT getting upgraded to 4k. Only the CODA version of 3 is getting the 4k love.

codes are redeeming 4K, if yours only redeemed HD, you will have to get a replacement code.

I bought the 4k disc set and was wondering what's the better option here for redeeming the codes:

iTunes or Vudu?

I'm just used to redeeming in MoviesAnywhere. I do have an Apple TV, but I don't like the fact of being restricted if it ONLY redeems there. What if my Apple TV goes out, and I don't feel like spending $200 on a new Apple TV box? I feel like Vudu may leave me with more options (more devices).

I'm leaning towards Vudu, but who knows how much longer they will be around.

Thoughts?

I always redeem in Vudu if available. I don't have an Apple TV, so Vudu is much more flexible for me. And they are owned by Fandango, so I don't think they are going anywhere anytime soon.

Keep in mind that iTunes now has app for non apple products like Roku and smart TVs. It’s called AppleTV. The only problem is that you can’t watch extras on them like ATV device.

Either way, it should be safe to redeem at either Vudu or iTunes. They both have the same chance of closing up shop, which is not very likely anytime soon. Just go with which one works best for you.

The Apple TV app is available on quite a few devices:

https://www.apple.com/apple-tv-app/devices/

I haven't used Vudu in a long time, but according to this thread they seem to have typically lower 4K video bitrates.

If it’s not important to you to have all your movies on one app, for non MA movies redeeming the 4K ones on Vudu and HD ones on iTunes maximizes value

I would rather have all movies in one app, but I’m honestly not sure what you’re saying. I also would like all of my 4k movies to redeem in 4k.

The original version of 3 isn't even available anywhere. I looked and best I could find was Amazon but you can't buy it. It's almost like Star Wars again. I mean, the original's on the physical set's bonus disc but what the heck are digital-only people suppose to do? HOPEFULLY, it'll be added soon and is not due to Francis Ford Coppola just wanting the one version or for legal reasons (maybe 2x residuals if there's extra version?).

The theatrical cut of 3 won’t be made available to purchase again anytime soon as it was removed and replaced with Coda when it was released a few months back. However, it is available in the iTunes as part of the iTunes extras. I guess if you have the disc, you can see if it’s available to d2d still on Vudu, but it just won't be available in 4k at any digital retailers.

The theatrical cut of Part III has in fact never been available, digitally or physically, until now. What has been available since the VHS days is the "final director's cut". To my knowledge that's also the one that's in the extras of the iTunes "Coda" version (and it is the old iTunes Part III release). You can check by looking at the length: the final director's cut is a little over 2:50, while the theatrical cut is about 10 minutes shorter. I've never seen the latter myself, but reportedly it's even worse then the "FDC".

Didn’t realize there was 3 different versions of the third film. Whichever cut of film linked below is what Coda replaced when released.
