Yeah I don't get it, it's hard to ignore data but he's doing a pretty good job of doing so.

Why should it? Who's deciding that? As a point of order, only three Batman movies out of eleven have EVER grossed over $350 million domestically, and only ONE had ever passed $300 million by day 17. It will steam past BvS in the next week, and TDKR's $435 million is in play. 'Somewhat respectable'? Wowzers.

Elsewhere, it's not getting enough credit, but Dog is very quietly becoming the biggest 'original' drama hit since 1917 over two years ago. Well done.

Says a lot about our society that films like ‘The Last Duel, Green Knight and Last Night In Soho flop but a film with Tatum and a dog does well. Breaks my heart.

If this movie ends up making a profit, I will eat my words and do so on here. But I don't see it. And everything I've read has said it won't make near as much as the previous Batman at all. I could be wrong and if I am I will eat my words.
You make no sense. The movie will make more domestic than Spideys first MCU solo movie with Iron Man. Unless you say that didn’t do well The Batman is a massive succes it will do OVER twice what Batman Begins did Wordwide. You literally lost the argument now take the L.

I'm not ignoring anything. The movie Is doing well. It is not a massive success but it is doing well. The budget, however, is what is keeping from being the big success everyone claims.

Agree with you about dog. Totally. Terrific performer. As for the Batman, it had another good weekend. However, I doubt it is going to get close to The Dark Knight Rises' domestic box office.

I seriously it will do over twice what Batmam Begins did worldwide. But then I've been spectacularly wrong before.

It is not absolutely a success now. It's doing well, but it still has another $100 million to make to break even.

Of course it will. Warner NEEDS a sequel. That was never in question.

It hasn't made any money for Warner yet. It's recouped about $300 million of the $400 million it needs to make back to break even.

'Massive' is an odd word to use when the one film that has had massive success, of late, is still in the top 10.

It hasn't made any money for warner yet. It's recouped about $300 million of the $400 million it needs to make back to break even.

The Budget is $185M. Its on $600M now. It has made over 3 times its budget already and most of it domestic which is where it mostly count. Yeah it really is a massive success. No matter what your bias say.

You are right its not reaching TDKR boxoffice but it doesn’t have to reach the last movie in a trilogy. But its gonna almost double what Batman Begins did.

The Boxoffice for Batman Begins is $373M. Double that you get $746M. So yeah it will get to that. So i guess you are wrong there too.

Yeah you are wrong good of you to admit it

Wrong yet again its already broken even and thensome.

Yeah we will get a trilogy of Battinson and Reeves team. Maybe even more.

Its budget is $185M. Not $400M lol.

I realize the budget isn't $400 million. That's the number it has to make to recoup its money and break. Or thereabouts as the budget hovers between $185 and $200 million. You double the budget to see what you have to make to break even. And yes, it has made over 3 times its budget already at the box office. However, It doesn't get to take that number home. It will take about maybe half of the global take, which would be $300 million. Which does not even double its budget. And the domestic take home so far is only $180 million, give or take. So THAT hasn't even covered its budget. Just don't look at the box office totals. Cause the studios don't get to take ALL that home.

A film needs to sell 2.5X it's budget in tickets worldwide in order to break even. Let's say the budget is $200M, it would need $500M to break even (200,000,000 x 2.5)...it's now almost at $600M.

OMD Reviews on YouTube who specializes in the box-office has The Batman at $59M net profit...it's all gravy from here on out.

Yes! However, that $600 million box office it has made is only the BOX OFFICE numbers. The studio doesn't get to take all of that home. it's probably about half of that. SO they have only taken home $300 million or so. So, it's not recouped anything yet.

But doesn't WB also get something from merchandising? I would imagine that would be profitable, too. I mean, just look everywhere.

Yeah but we're strictly talking about box-office...but yes between the toys, apparel, accessories, and streaming rights this thing is a cash cow for WB.
