Hi guys I'm not sure if I am doing something wrong on my end or not over this.
So ok if I got this correct, I'm using a Sony BDPS6700 on a X950H. Now I'm not expecting miracles here but I noticed this does something strange when I watch DVD's and the player is set to 4k upscale. Essentially DVD's when set to 4k on this ( and I've tested this on multiple DVD's anyone else who owns this feel free to try it as well ) do some kind of jaggy edge effect on the picture. It DOES NOT do this when I set it to 1080p upscale on DVD, I repeat it only does it on 4k upscaling. I've tested this on an older 2007 and a few other models of both DVD and BR players. It only seems to be doing this from 4k. Now what I am not exactly sure of here, and why this might be some conflict ( someone wiser may know the answer ), by enabling the 4k upscaling I am guessing both the TV and the player are doing this at the same time ? or does the TV automatically do this ? if so what exactly is the point of the 4k upscaling then on a BR player since you need a 4k TV for it to even display 4k upscaling correct ? I'm puzzled by this and or if there is something specific I have to change in the setup of the TV or player for this to display correctly. 1080p DVD looks decent on my TV yet I wanted to see what 4k DVD upscaling looks like with it turned on. Any advice or input would help thanks. |
