Default DS-Day is 06/12/09. Report Digital Switchover horror stories here!

This may not effect most of us here but post your local DS-Day stories here. Tommorrow will be a mess around the country. Wilmington NC was the test city for the complete switch in Sept 2008 and the city had to send Police and Firefighters to homes to connect/install digital TV boxes from all the 911 calls.

May want to re-name it from "D-Day"...

But, I too, am excited to see what happens. Panic in the streets! Riots ensue!

No, no one is going to mistake it - I'm just saying, it's the internet, and people get touchy, so calling it "D-Day" some people might get upset that you're choosing that name for something like this. Not me, just other people. Its the internet! Full of whiners, complainers, skips, skaps, and scolly-wops.

I can't wait until the switch to digital. I'm tired of hearing about it.

Installed a HDTV antenna on my balcony a few weeks back,
got tired of the money spent, when I can get it free.

3 of my 4 local stations switched at the original February date and there weren't too many problems. I just don't understand how people haven't seen all the publicity over the last year to understand the switch.

Yeah, I live in an apartment complex and I actually got digital stations before, and then I rescanned my tv's tuner and now I have nothing. That was in February though, so I've been without tv since. It doesn't help that my "landlord" has the rooftop antenna pointing north and all the stations broadcast east or southeast from here.

my neighbor has had the digital receiver for a few months now, and the picture is pretty good and there are definetly more channels. It was like SD satelite channels....

I find it rediculous that member of our society (elderly or not) think that not being able to watch TV is enough of an emergency to dial 911...absolutely rediculous

If it doesn't have two prongs and can't go into a wall outlet, people panic and cry for help instead of just using logic and matching the freaking color.
