Default The thread stolen from me for a day

The HDR Discussion Thread on the Ultra HD Blu-ray forum got closed as a conversation broke out between LordoftheRings and Penton-Man. So I decided to start a second version to be nice to everyone who wanted to discuss HDR. But somehow, a member known as PaulGo managed to hack into the site and STEAL the thread from me. How on earth did he hack the site and illegitimately claim the thread as his own? And no, this was not my thread merging with an older, larger one, but rather PaulGo literally changing my post and STEALING the title of Original Poster. The Original Poster is supposed to be the person who actually started the thread. It is NEVER supposed to change. Would you want to start a company only to have someone else steal the title of founder?

As you’ve already acknowledged in the thread, the OP was changed by a moderator, not another member. This happens routinely. I don’t know why the moderator made the change. Hopefully you’ll hear back from him, since you’ve PM’d him.

Regardless, you’ve already managed to derail the new thread with complaints about ownership instead of discussion of HDR. Don’t be surprised if it too gets closed.

This is a feedback forum section; not a HDR thread.

And if he’d limited his complaint to Feedback, you’d have a point. But the complaint is being aired both here and in the HDR thread, which I’m sure you know, since you’re posting there.

EDIT: Looks like the issue has been addressed.

Somebody still doesn’t know that mods can edit posts and they think everything is a deliberate attack? I’m shocked.

They can edit posts, but they shouldn't be able to steal someone's thread and give it to someone else. Thankfully, neoz was nice enough to return the thread to me.

Since you are continuing to post in this thread, I'll provide a counter balance to your post.

1) You have to OWN something to make a claim someone stole something from you. WE don't own any content on bluray.com. Once you post it, the post becomes property of the website. Period The owners, admins and mods are allowed to edit or delete each and every post. Everyone agreed to this when they joined. You don't own that post or the thread.

2) "Your thread" is a misnomer. (see #1). Below is you contribution to reopening an existing topic (and for that you created this thread and posts complaining in the HDR thread). Your opening post is the content equivalent of stating "dibs".

"The New HDR Discussion Thread please make sure to only talk about things relating to HDR on this thread."

3) IMHO, your conduct (including this thread) contributed to the fact it wasn't worth the fight. It was like a partner giving in to a illogical argument just to "move on".

Every user's page has a "List of threads started by [user]". Whoever started a thread is supposed to have that thread on their list, not anyone else's.

But you don't even know who took it from you to begin with. Either way, they don't always follow their own rules.

Point me to any rule that backs up what you're claiming. Mods here can and will edit or takeover your posts as they see fit. You have no recourse because as ronboster stated, you own nothing here. It's like claiming your mom stole your toys, but we all know mom's in charge, and you never bought the toys either. Considering this has happened to you a second time and you've overreacted again, maybe there's a reason mods keep taking over your posts.
