Troma seriously need to reissue this movie. The single disc Bluray with no extras ain't cutting it. They did the 4-disc limited edition but 1 disc was a CD sampler (forget that) and 2 bonus DVDs of extras. How hard is that to mass produce? DVDs are cheap af. They shoulda done something for the anniversary last year or they could do an Astron-6 back catalogue collection now that they're over. But I guess the legal issues with Lloyd Kaufman make him wanna stay away from their IP. Shame.

Father's Day is owned by Troma. There were no legal issues – Astron-6 just didn't like the deal they made long after they made it. Troma also no longer owns the rights to the Astron-6 short films.

Okay well my main point is they should reissue Father's Day with better extras. There's a 4-disc limited edition (US) plus a 6-disc (German) so obviously a new release might reduce their value but Troma could still strike a balance so each release has a unique feature set. Just don't do absolutely nothing!! Barebones is so boring.

In Australia we do have a 2-disc DVD but unfortunately it's censored. If it wasn't, I'd easily pick up that and not fuss. 1 bonus disc of extras is fine.

I have no say in the decision, but I also don't see any point in re-releasing something a) that's still in print, and b) wouldn't have any input from the A6 crew. There is (was?) a feature-length documentary that A6 created independently but they refused to turn it over to Troma. Unless something were to change, there really isn't anything to revisit.

Unfortunately, just like other studios, the efforts are concentrated on streaming and physical media is a distant second.
