I just read that Basic Instinct Unrated Directors Cut can be played on region B players as it is apparently Region Free.
In the Region Coding section of this site, it states Region A. But a member has said, if scroll down and read the comments, that it's region free. Is this true? I hope so, because we, in UK can only get the standard edition on Blu-ray. Can anyone help me out with this? Thanks very much Cheers! ![]() |

I remember this site stating that Friday The 13TH Uncut was Region A, but then later changed the details to Region Free, which it is.
I was hoping that that maybe the case here. Maybe not then. Booo to that! ![]() We always seem to stiffed over here when it comes to blu-ray or even dvd releases. Thanks anyway guys for the reply and link. ![]() |

Hmm, didn't know the UK release wasn't the director's cut. I actually bought it a few weeks ago since I heard it had slightly better PQ than the US release, but I haven't watched it yet. Oh well, still have the US release, so no big deal.

Wow, PQ on the UK edition is better then the US edition...didn't realise that. What is the difference between the UK edition and the Directors Cut? Other then PQ. |

No problem.
![]() And here's the difference between the R-rated and the UNRATED edition (from IMDb): The US version uses alternate, less explicit takes of several scenes to tone down the sex content. -The murder of Johnny Boz in the opening scene is more graphic; we see the killer stabbing him in his neck, stabbing him repeatedly in the chest, in the face and we see the icepick passing through his nose. -The scene where Nick almost rapes Beth is severely cut in the US version (we see ripping off her underwear and forcing her over the couch, then there's a cut to the two of them lying in bed). In the uncut version Nick pulls down his pants, penetrates Beth from behind and she has an orgasm. -The scene where Nick and Catherine make love after going to the disco is longer much more explicit in the uncut version (Nick is seen burying his face between her legs). -The death of Nick's partner, Gus, in the elevator is more graphic. The US version omits shots of Gus being repeatedly stabbed in the neck with blood and gore flying at the camera. |
