I've got the TT edition, but glad to see this coming back at a sane price point for anyone who wants it. Terrific adaptation, with McKellen crushing it.

Barebones? In case anyone here is region free and doesn't already know, the UK release from the BFI is gorgeous and pretty stacked:

Yep, I own the BFI release.

It looks great and the bonus features are extensive.

It's either region free or it played with the STOP, TOP MENU, TOP MENU trick. I'll check tonight to confirm.

I wonder if this new US release will use the newer UK master.

Is Sandpiper basically just Olive Films rebranded? They use the same stock Blu-Ray case display.

It's just a third party blu-ray case template that anyone can buy.

Be careful, people can get very sensitive about saying that.

It's not region free, a site user has confirmed that it does not play on A and C region players - LINK

I didn't have a chance to check last night, but I was definitely able to play it on my Panasonic machine, so it must be playable with the STOP, TOP MENU, TOP MENU trick then.

I'll confirm tonight.

FYI:

- the UK BFI edition is a newer master. I've never seen any comparisons online, but I own both and noticed a difference

- the US MGM master on the Twilight Time disc had a brief audio dropout about 5 minutes in, I'd presume this disc will use that same master.

This was one of my favorite films of the 1990s. The UK disc is absolutely the way to go, if you can play it.
