Glad they announced this before Severin’s mid-year sale since I was planning on picking up their BD. Looking forward to this.

EDIT: Actually, I’m confused by the 18 rating certification they posted. Is it actually uncut or not?

SO glad I waited for a euro release.

Though I never expected that we would get it on UHD, and especially not uncut, from the UK.

Wonder if BBFC will pass New York Ripper uncut next. Or if that one is still too naughty for the BBFC

These days who knows. I have given up on trying to figure out how the BBFC works.

Apparently so, it would be a bit odd to put 'uncut' on the blurb only for it not to be.

Good. Don't have to give those scumbag losers at Severin my money. Don't want to give my money to complete sorry excuses for human beings that would literally sell a product to customers they know is defective and say nothing about it, until there's outrage. About as scumbag as it gets in this business. So I'll go with this, assuming everything turns out okay.... and it's 4k to boot. Which I'm sure Severin will also try to milk to their zombie consumer base for more money.

Don't hold back - how do you really feel?

I already bought the Severin corrected release. I don't know what the real truth is. Maybe they were just totally unaware of the issue like what happens so often with Shout and Arrow. Shout are scum too according to what you say, as they continue to sell discs that have issues, like Halloween II on UHD, which they refuse to admit is a screw-up, along with many other titles (2 of the 3 audio tracks on Black Christmas are out of sync). Or maybe Severin knew already. Whatever. I don't trust too many companies these days in general. Should I?

I do wonder how this will compare to Severin's though, since I just bought it. I'm no fan of Severin. I just buy releases that interest me.

The weird thing is, House on the Edge of the Park is actually banned here in New Zealand, but The New York Ripper is available completely uncut. Censorship is all pretty arbitrary.
