It's so tough to do the ranking because everything from Hard Times to 48 Hrs is at about the same level. I think Walter has a fair number of 4 star films but maybe no 5 stars.

Anyone else get their Amazon preorder delayed by over a week? Grrr!

But I only ordered it a few weeks ago and used a $5 credit on top of that, so I guess I can't complain too much.

Plus, these Vestron movies occasionally have a small drop in price a day or two after release (at least that was the case with Little Monsters and Shivers, from what I remember), which would make the delay a benefit.

Honestly, as long as DukeTogo84 gets his on time (I know how badly he has been wanting this release), I can wait.

Lets see if we get a review for this soon. Just hoping there are no major issues with this release.

Studio Canal is also releasing this - in the UK (and presumably region-locked). I wonder what the differences will be, if any.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; I bet that Vestron is going to be the weakest link here when it comes to PQ...Once again.

The UK release does not list the interview with Walter Hill. It might be on there, but it's not officially listed as of now. The UK edition will come with art cards too apparently.

Let's hope so, but personally, I wouldn't expect much from it. If it's not too much to ask; let us know how it turns out with it. I still have my copy of Soul Media release from it, so I'm not much of a horry with it, even though Soul Media release is just 1080i.

This format is working on being 2 decades old and nobody in the US had given us this... If it's a respectful release I'm not going to complain too much.

Yeah, expect a pointless pixel-by-pixel breakdown. I appreciate any and all information, but some people really can't see the forest from the trees. If the Vestron release looks decent and is problem-free, I'll be happy.

Same. As long as there are no major issues, I'll be fine. Hoping to read a review before I get my copy.

Found the first review for this although they use the new UK cover for some reason, but it is the Lionsgate release.

According to the reviewer it looks good.

I can’t say I have much faith in a reviewer who claims this movie was shot digitally or is happy that grain is “virtually not visible”, but I’m still hoping for the best.

I do hope the transfer is more like the German release versus the Japanese which didn't have as good of an encode. I've never read any of this guys reviews before, so not sure of his rep, but hope he's somewhat knowledgable.

The movie wasn't a big hit, it isn't well known, it's not a movie that will connect with a cult audience like a low budget horror movie or something.. So I doubt it will have this great restoration. It is what it is.
