My interest in this game depends on if I have to play against other people online or not.

Agreed.

I see the box art packaging of the PS5 disc version, on the front says:
Internet and Playstation Plus required for Online Multiplayer.

That excludes anything about offline, but it could also indicate there may be an offline mode that does not require internet.

EvilDeadPS5disc.jpg
The Evil Dead disc version includes 2 extra outfits for Ash.

I wonder if it includes the SSmart Stock Customer Service Outfit Ash is shown wearing in the game, and the Medieval Armor from Army of Darkness, or if those are default hopefully.

Yeah, that will hopefully arrive before the game releases.

I'm expecting a game much like those Friday the 13th games, where you interact and can either be the Evil Dead or the survivors.

In this game, I wonder what prevents the player from being possessed? And once taken over by evil Candarion demons (spelling?), how to rid oneself of them if possible. In the movies, it was possible, and in the series too.

They’ll probably have an offline mode similar to Friday the 13th.

I remember it was boring playing against bots.

That's my main concern too. Is the first game including an offline mode now too? 13th? That's surprising.

I was just thinking about the bot mode in Star Wars Battlefront 2 was boring because they got rid of all of the options and AT AT Walker Assault campaigns of the first game that made it so much more fun and epic.

The first Battlefront game had Skirmish. But it does suck that they didn’t include any of the expansions like Bespin, Death Star, etc for offline play.

Battlefront 2 actually has a decent amount of offline modes similar to online.

Crazy, but people still play Battlefront 1 from 2015 online. Me included. lol

Thanks. Yeah, that game's skirmish mode was incredible. Felt like a real war going on. I just wish they were able to update the graphics to 1080p instead of the 900p which looked pixelated and blurrier.

New look at single-player mode.

Major heads up. Although Evil Dead The Game has included a single player option, it still is said to require internet to be able to play the single player mode, for this online multiplayer game.

I'll skip this one, despite being a big fan of Evil Dead 1 and 2. Army of Darkness is entertaining but lost the essence of the first 2. Thankfully the Ash vs Evil Dead series gets it right.

I agree 100% with your assessment of the movie/series.

Most people seem to love Army of Darkness the most, I've always found it a bit much, a good enough movie but a noticable step down for sure.

I've still yet to watch series 3 of the show but the first two were pretty great (outside of some truely horrific CGI in places, not all though).

What stinks is that the developer is hardly even trickling bits of information in, trying to get as many pre-orders as they can before revealing that this game more than likely needs internet to play single player based on what I saw.

Thanks. Yeah, Evil Dead 1 and 2 kept the horror aspect as a priority, but Army of Darkness is more like a medieval comedy. I was watching it the other night and while I like aspects of it, I had to stop halfway when Ash pulled his face out of the book and had to shake his face to get his jaw back to normal. That was so ridiculous and not something I would expect in the first 2 films. Plus the gore factor was eliminated completely.

With Ash vs Evil Dead, a generally fun series despite some flaws, and when they did real effects, it's good, but I agree, some of the CGI effects needed a lot more work to be more convincing. Some good demon take overs though and they did a nice job with the story overall. Season 3 was good and had an epic ending. A bit over the top again, but gory too. I'll have to rewatch the series next chance I get.
Evil Dead 1, one of the goriest horror films I've seen and my favorite in the series.

I will get round to watching the whole series at some point, I remember the CGI on the possessed doll babies in an early episode looking absolutely awful, I find the possessed doll trope boring at the best of times and I was genuinely worried that the series was going to go further down the rediculousness route, if the CGI remained at that level too I would have been turned off the rest of the show for sure.

Luckily the rest of the CGI was pretty decent by and large and the humour worked quite well generally in a more Evil Dead 2 style/fashion.

Another thing they could've did, is what Star Wars Battlefront offered; a fully offline mode where you can fight against AI Bots for the Walker AT AT assaults mode. In addition to the single player campaign as seen in SWBF2.

Good point about that doll. Like clowns, I don't feel any sense of dread from a creepy looking doll like some others might. Yeah, thankfully they kept real effects in there too.
CGI might have saved them some time, but the real gore effects are way more convincing and fun in the classic style that Raimi started with for Evil Dead.

I see in the PS Store description, it says 1 to so many players, but also says Online Required.
