You got the case, cover art & disc. The slipcovers, while nice, aren’t considered an important part of the package. It’s why places like Barnes & Noble toss them out (I’ve seen this myself when in store on a new release day).

They do serve a purpose though. If it wasn't for the slipcover, surely the cover art in my copy with its cheaper than shit eco case would have been creased or ripped. Now I'll toss it in a box for a while and eventually throw it on eBay once it becomes scarce enough to make it worth my while.

Just chatted with Amazon customer service about the delay.

They can't do anything, and they won't even extend my Prime membership as a courtesy like they automatically used to offer with issues like this.

Still looking forward to this release, even if it's a week late for me.

I'll probably lose out on the slipcover too, which is mildly irritating, but I am not a slip guy anyway and I'm still saving $5 by using a credit I had.

Mine arrived earlier today from Orbit. Even with free shipping, I was surprised it arrived in only 2 days. The Slipcover (minty fresh) looks quite nice, same style as the old Vestron ones.

I haven't seen the movie in years, so it should be nice to revisit it later tonight. The bonus features on the disc definitely look like they'll be worth watching in full too.

All copies doesn't have slipcovers. Some do and some don't. It depends on where it's purchased from, and which copies the retailer had received in stock. If you return it to Best Buy, and reorder the movie from another retailer, you may get one with a slipcover. With Best Buy, it's a hit and miss with them.

The version on the Vestron release starts with the new Studio Canal logo, so I would assume they will probably be the same transfer, and just the encodes will be different.

But as bad as some Vestron releases are (many have been bested by overseas transfers/encodes even licensed from Lionsgate) nothing would surprise me...

The ones listed for the UK release (at Amazon UK at least) appear to match the supplements on the Vestron release exactly...minus the Walter Hill Interview.

It looks like UK version drops the interview with Walter Hill, checked on Amazon and HMV and neither list it but we won’t know for sure until someone has it in their hands, but you do get some art cards…..

Speak for yourself. Maybe YOU don't consider them important but other people do. Especially people who have every single Vestron release with slipcovers on them and now one that doesn't. If you bought a car and it was missing floormats, would you be like, "Well, I got an engine and tires" and not be annoyed?

I bought a brand new Vestron release in the original pressing. A slipcover is always expected. Complete packaging is part of physical media.

I don't care that much about slips, and even I agree with dawnofdave. I'll be annoyed if mine doesn't come with a slip - especially when it's delayed by Amazon for no reason. At this point, I'm half-tempted to cancel my order, eat the loss on the credit I used, and pay a little more to get it from Walmart this week. I probably won't bother doing any of that though.

I'm not sure what's up with Lionsgate/Vestron lately. The Blu-ray release of But I'm a Cheerleader was a catastrophe (some got pressed discs, others got BD-Rs, and there were variations with the cases) and now some copies of this release don't have slips.

I have every single Vestron release so far with a slip, and at this point if I were to receive one without a slip I would go through the trouble of returning and rebuying elsewhere. Fortunately my copy of EP from Bullmoose came with a slip so I don't have to worry about it this time.
