[EDIT 5/20/2022]
AnyDVD HD (possibly with the assistance of my MakeMKV license) is doing exactly this! I am not ripping any data to the hard drive (I process tracked it) and I have matched my results to about 10 different discs without fail! Awesome! I already have working paid MakeMKV rips to folder structure which BDInfo works correctly on...However I'd like to go through my entire collection and fill in the bitrates for you guys. I don't want to fill 60gb of data over and over onto any of my hard drives. Alternatively anyone know software that does this? I wrote to MakeMKV software writer to see if he will ever re-virtualize the disc's folder structure and decrypt titles on the fly as they are requested from that virtual disc drive. But he rarely updates his code and it's a huge ask. Last edited by littlegandhi1199; 05-20-2022 at 09:28 PM. Reason: SOLUTION |

Side note: Anyone know why my bitrate submission for
/movies/Fearless-Blu-ray/1974/ has not been processed? I did do that correctly right? Note that there are multiple cuts of the film on this disc... I selected edit movie and supplied this under "Average video bit rate" Video bitrate = 17.03 Code:

Thank You.
Now can anyone comment on software that already does this? or perhaps move this thread to the correct forum category. I am not sure if this is the right one. I really really thought that one software was already doing this. They just emulate the disc drive with decrypted contents and the main reasoning for them to provide that feature was for you to watch your blurays on any 3rd party video player of your choice after you've paid them the huge fee. ANYDVD HD description states AnyDVD HD is another Windows-based decrypter that removes restrictions of Blu-ray and DVD disc automatically in the background. After decryption, the Blu-ray will become usable to all programs on your Windows computer, such as Blu-ray backup software like CloneDVD, CloneBD, and others. I always thought they did this and this description sounds a lot like that "in the background" etc |

I was also wondering that and want a way to directly scan discs without waiting an hour or two for ripping first.
I created an issue (or rather feature request) in the GitHub repository of BDInfo for that, but unfortunately there has been no response so far: https://github.com/UniqProject/BDInfo/issues/32 In case you are a developer or don't mind creating an account there, it would probably help to raise your interest there as well. ![]() Maybe a quick introduction if you had no clue: GitHub is a place for developers to upload their code/version control infos and collaborate. |

https://forum.makemkv.com/forum/view...122632#p122632 NOTE ::: I did edit my post and YES >>> ANYDVD worked perfectly on all but 2 discs in my collection which I proceeded to rip with MAKEMKV and run afterwards. Pretty cool but I'd rather not support some other software when I can just pay mike admin over there the same money just to investigate a development method which would support everything. EDIT2: Oh and I actually still have an idea how this might work with makeMKV and without BDInfo developing anymore features. (Now that my ANYDVD trial has expired :P) Streaming was once supported and I believe still is through a launch option which is a UPNP access to the decrypted disc. If we could mirror that to an actual windows folder (with other software) and point BDInfo at that I'm sure that would work too. Last edited by littlegandhi1199; 06-19-2022 at 08:41 PM. |

No, I have not seen that thread as I created an issue on GitHub already before that and didn't think this is a responsibility of MakeMKV - it already has decryption support for 3rd party applications ("Integration" tab) and I tried enabling it globally and also specifically for BDInfo, but it can still not read the disc; so I assumed it's a limitation of how BDInfo tries to read the disc that prevents the on-the-fly decryption from MakeMKV working there.
While I knew about AnyDVD HD a long time ago I also want to only pay for MakeMKV and not for AnyDVD HD as well and one might also want to consider the problems AnyDVD has had in the past. I wanted to check the codebase of BDInfo and perhaps try working on an implementation that works with MakeMKV myself, but I often don't have have much time and it would anyways be better to be tackled primarily by the current developer. And currently I have another ongoing modding project.^^ They don't seem to be active anymore though? At least that project was active another year ago, where I opened an issue and it has been resolved very quickly.. Well, for now I only scan the discs where I'm curious about it or want to rip them anyways and will leave the rest for later (or others). ![]() I'll read up on your thread later. ![]() |
