The Pentaverate is an American comedy streaming television miniseries created by Mike Myers for Netflix. The series premiered on May 5, 2022, and consists of six episodes.
Since the Black Plague in 1347, five men have been working to influence world events for the greater good. One unlikely Canadian journalist finds himself in the middle of a mission to expose the truth and in the process, save the world. Cast Mike Myers as: Ken Scarborough: A Canadian news journalist who sets out to expose the Pentaverate and win his job back Anthony Lansdowne: A New England conspiracy theorist who is determined to expose the Pentaverate Rex Smith: A far-right radio host and highly prominent conspiracy theorist Lord Lordington: The Pentaverate’s oldest and highest-ranking member, who sits at the head of the dais as "Centralis" Bruce Baldwin: A former Australian media mogul Mishu Ivanov: An ex-Russian oligarch Shep Gordon: A former rock ‘n’ roll manager (Gordon is a real person and was the subject of the documentary film Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon, which was directed by Myers.) Jason Eccleston: A tech genius who invented the Pentaverate’s supercomputer, MENTOR + Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key, Debi Mazar, Richard McCabe, Jennifer Saunders, and Lydia West ------------------------- Just checked this out to confirm in my mind that it was probably mediocre... but I actually laughed hard and long. One of the best shows I've seen in a while. Mike Myers is extremely great in this and so is Keegan. They work great together. Not sure about the entire show but the first episode goes hard. ![]() |

It's much better than Love Guru & I laughed enough. The fact it was from what the Dad in So I Married an Axe Murderer was talking about was great, and there were still some really funny Mike Myers bits. This has R-rated comedy I don't really ever remember seeing from him also.

That one wordplay joke about the hotel halfway between Toronto and NYC was hilarious. I laughed so hard.

Watched the first episode, will probably get around to the rest later but so far I wasn't impressed. I just thought it was extremely lame and just not funny. The Canadian cliches were so tired. I would have thought being Canadian himself that Myers would have something fresh to offer but it all just falls back on lazy stereotypes (i.e. Canadians saying "aboot" which is a pronunciation that I've only ever heard a couple of people from the Maritimes actually use).

I only thought the accents were funny because they were so exaggerated. Not just the Canadian ones. He does that with all of the voices/characters.
Anyway, I never find shows to be laugh out loud funny and I thought this was hilarious. |

This was very funny and even managed some serious points among the knob jokes. Jeremy Irons was hilarious and I really enjoyed the Netflix censored pool scene. One interesting thing is the use of the Albertus font made famous by The Prisoner, and there's a nod to the episode The Girl Who Was Death with the drinking glasses on the plane

This is getting horrible reviews from critics and audiences but I absolutely loved it (flaws and all). Would've prefered if it was streamlined into a feature but I'll definitely be revisiting this for a laugh like I do with Mike's classics.
A proper return to form after The Love Guru. |

Thought this was great. Yes, the plot was all over the place & the finale was a bit weak, but I'll forgive it because it was just a joy to see Mike Myers get his mojo back & just throw himself into being incredibly silly again.
Absolutely loved the Jeremy Irons intros, & the interruptions by the Nexflix CEO were genius. Hope this has given Myers the kick to give us some more new stuff soon. I missed him! ![]() |

I'll have to give this another go. I love Mike Myers, especially in his prime, but I couldn't finish the first episode
