heard about this last year or so...this is going to make me get HBO then as soon as the series is over cancel HBO....

The Pacific is being produced by Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, and Gary Goetzman in association with HBO Films, Playtone, Dreamworks, and Seven Network.[4] Seven invested in the project for the right to broadcast it in Australia.[5] Nine Network has previously broadcast the HBO productions of The Sopranos and Band of Brothers. Nine had a broadcast deal with HBO's parent Warner Bros., but then HBO started to distribute its own productions separately.[6]

In April 2007 the producers set up a production office in Melbourne and began casting.[7]

Filming of the series in Australia, started August 10, 2007,[8] and finished in late May 2008.[9]

While filming on Sandy Creek Road near Geelong, Victoria, on January 30, 2008, an extra broke his leg and arm from flying clay in a controlled explosion accident.[10]

As of April 2009 the score is being finalized and the series is estimated to premiere in March 2010

The wait is tooooooooooooo long. Looks good. Has that classy Speilberg/Hanks feel.

I am not a big fan of war movies, however I watched Band Of Brothers on my brother's request and I loved it, one of the best series I ever saw. This look to be done in the same fashion and I will be watching this plus the fact I got HBO on HD

Anyone else surprised they were using the music of the movie Stardust at the end of the trailer?
