Default If a Blu-ray title you wanted came out in a stickered SB, would you buy it?

With the recent number of stickered steelbook releases in which the entire cover artwork consists of a single sticker (eg. Transporter Trilogy FNAC Exclusive, Fantasy VII Advent Children Complete), I thought it would be interesting to poll forum members on whether or not they would purchase these.

I'm VERY selective in my SteelBooks since most have to be imported. Right now I have the TDK FutureShop SB and the Goldfinger Amazon.com SB; I plan to add GoldenEye when it materializes...that's it for the forseable future. And I voted No, as I would never spend so much on a stickered SB--seems like a really cheap move to me.

Clone Wars and Hancock had some nasty stickers that took a lot of work to get off but if the Steel is nice, I'd buy it but not looking forward to the sticker removal

Pretty much if a company is not expecting huge sales numbers, its cheaper to buy blank steels and apply stickers compared to paying extra to print the cover on the steel.

Personally for me if I had to pay extra for a steel, I expect it to be the best quality. It doesn't feel right ordering a steel with a sticker on it.

Hmm... Is it possible to add another option on the poll? I would only buy a stickered steelbook if it is priced the same or a few bucks more than the normal version. So I can't vote on any of your poll options.

Most steelbook sells for about 1.5 times to double the price of a normal blu-ray on initial release.

Yea you dont wanna go removing those stickers.......Hopefully they apply extra stickers on top of that one as it may be a pain and cause further damage to the surface of the original sticker........

Almost as depressing as buying a car with no paint, just a vinyl sticker

Unfortunately, I can't seem to edit the poll choices once people have started voting. I guess I'm just attempting to find out peoples opinions on the current cost situation. You are right, they are sometimes priced at 1.5 to double the amount of a standard one, so lets go with the current prices we see. Given that, sounds like your vote would be no. However, do you raise a good point.

Don't get me wrong, I like the transporter trilogy steelbook, but the printed
on art looks tons better.

It's not horrible looking, but I don't plan on importing any other steelbooks with stickers on the front.

Good thing I really like the transporter films.

Hello Travis Bickle,

The process is actually Offset Lithography printing and not silkscreen. While similar, Offset Lithography printing offers a greater range of creactivity and detail, to the artwork.

I don't know if I can vote on this one either. I initially told myself I would stay away from them, but if they make a stickered SteelBook of a movie I actually know I want, and that is the only SteelBook available, then I might be tempted to add it to my collection.

So, I guess I'm a no unless it's a movie I want to own, then it's a maybe if there is no other option besides amaray.

I think this must be clarified.

This is not the distributor fault or they are trying to cut down budget.. Scanavo implemented such restriction for your lovin' SteelBook™.

And most important they are very nice though, you won't notice with your naked eyes!
