Great news, one of the last truly great comedies I've seen -- and we need more comedies on UHD. Cinematography by John Toll, this could look fantastic!

Very happy to see this hitting UHD. John Toll's unheralded cinematography in this one alone makes it worth the purchase.

I used to love behind the scenes and commentaries, but Lord of the Rings broke me from that years ago. I no longer want to see the man behind the curtain; it sometimes takes me out of the film later on, and that's also time I could be watching other movies or shows.

But, Robert Downey Jr. portraying Kirk Lazarus portraying Lincoln Osiris still in character in the commentary, reacting with the real Jack Black and Ben Stiller, is just too freakin' meta-hilarious!

I love showing this to people who have seen the film but don't know about the commentary.

John Toll goodness. I would not have guessed this would hit UHD BD from whomever before Sony did Legends Of the Fall.

John Toll shot The Thin Red Line, and he shot Tropic Thunder.

I love both, but who would have guessed the latter would get a UHD first?

The Thin Red Line - Fox now Disney.

Tropic Thunder - Dreamworks via Paramount.

Not hard to figure out that math.

Pains me to say it but I think this is one of the last movies he shot that actually looked decent. Harriet and The Matrix Resurrections had ****ing abhorrent cinematography. I know he ended up leaving the latter early on but still..

Holy shit, I bought the Blu-ray in 2009 and had no idea this commentary existed. Now I'm questioning if I should watch it now or wait until the UHD comes out and hope this is also on it.

The commentary could be considered a movie spin-off since Kirk Lazarus says he does not drop character until after he has done the commentary. So I’m sure it’ll be on the 4K disc.

Sorry professor, I was just making an observation about irony, I wasn't solving a studio calculus problem on the hallway chalkboard

This was my hope, I have the theatrical cut in 4K digitally, and will likely never watch it again since I prefer the DC in every way on this one.
