Hello all, looking for some tips on how to fix up my home theater room. Please see attached. The toughest part about this is I have a pretty large cabinet that was a hand-me-down I'd rather not throw away. I'd like to position the TV in a way that people sitting on either couch can see it, while not turning the couches away from the fireplace. Am I better off mounting the TV over the fireplace (measured it and it would "barely" fit with about an inch on each side).
I returned the Roku wireless system as I didn't like the fact that it doesn't do anything but multichannel DD (wanted something that will do multichannel DTS as well). I went for one of the Yamaha HTIB systems just because it was what I could afford and I figured it could be upgraded with better speakers later. It's the one that has the RX-V4A amp in it with the 5 speakers and a sub. I believe it is a 5.1.2 receiver. It looked like it got some good feedback for a budget amp as long as the firmware is up-to-date. TL-DR - Looking for ways to fix up my home theater room so TV is easier to see and it frees up some space. It almost feels as if I just do not have enough room. https://imgur.com/a/DYqJSKl https://imgur.com/a/bItNXSK |

I'd consider putting the TV on the opposite wall where the painting is, have the sofa on the wall (where the TV is) and the other facing the fireplace.
You've got a decent wall there, might be worth looking at some UST projectors! it looks like your about 8 feet away from the TV, that's a bit far for 4K. |
