This film is brilliant. Palmason is a real talent. His previous film 'a white white day' was good but this is another level. Echoes of Bergman, Dreyer, Scorsese's Silence and the aspect ratio vignette style that wouldn't be out of place in a Mark Jenkin film

[Show spoiler]The genius of this film is that it's based on the discovery of a load of photographs that were found and thought to be taken by the Priest in the film.....but in a Fargo like twist, that's a load of baloney concocted by the Director to formulate the story in the first place.

Haha that's great, came out of the film and immediately sought out the real ones on the interwebs. I like it even more now.

Was lucky to catch the only screening of this on BFI IMAX - really terrific, very much like SILENCE which I also loved.

Under a 10-er on Amazon so def worth a preorder.
