As I read this constantly phasing thread, it almost appears as if Bob Furmanek had never been born. But I have a sneaking suspicion that if that had truly been the case, then this release would never be conceived.

Looks like a couple people got their panties in a serious bunch at the mention of vertical misalignment issues in UCLA’s restoration and that the 3DFA was called in to fix them and lend their general expertise for the Blu-ray release, so as a result, the 3DFA are no longer involved. Well, if there ends up being any fixable vertical misalignment issues in the eventual product, we know who not to blame…

Hoping for the best.

I think this is going to be another one of those movies I'll wait until it's out and reviewed before I click on buy. I am hoping for great things but it's starting to look like that might not happen.

All I know is that I saw this once in 3D at the World 3D Expo at the Egyptian in LA in 2006 with no 4K scans, no digital realignment or any restoration to my knowledge … and absolutely loved it. Any restoration work will be an improvement, and I’m on Cloud 9 that this may soon be available on 3DBR.

ClaassicFix latest response:

CORRECTION REGARDING I, THE JURY

Earlier posts regarding the restoration of I, THE JURY have been misconstrued by some. We would like to correct any potential misreading and state that 3-D Film Archive was in no way involved in the current restoration of I, THE JURY.

I, THE JURY has been restored by UCLA Film and Television Archive in collaboration with PKL Pictures and Romulus Films. Laboratory services Roundabout Entertainment, The UCLA Digital Lab, Audio Mechanics and Simon Daniel Sound. Special thanks to Connie Elliot, Nicholas Varley and Jonathan C. Woolf.

We do greatly admire the work of The 3-D Film Archive... but as of this writing they will not be taking any part nor take any role in our upcoming release of I, THE JURY... I can say with assurance that fans will be pleased by our upcoming special edition release.

I never saw this movie, so had to look up the trailer to I, The Jury from 1953.

I can imagine it was filmed in strong 3D.

Never would have happened if the 3DFA had been involved

Not really higher rez, but it's in 3D

Depending on what you need, could basically just use one eye view of the stereo conversions like:

Highest resolution I had.

Also half of a 3D conversion. Which can be seen here:
