Between this and Child's Play 1 - 3, who knew Memorial Day was a big day for new title announcements? I'm in for this, and glad to see Shout Select titles are eligible for upgrade, the way Scream Factory titles are. I honestly wouldn't mind if they slowed down, though. My wallet hurts.
Check the year. Anyone with a computer could see this movie. |

Was just thinking about this movie a few days ago, and after looking at the not-so-great reception to the Shout BD, was ready to put the film on the "when there's a 4K" waitlist. Didn't think I'd get a timeline for that less than a week later. That said, I'm still going to wait until after seeing the first impressions of the release. Just to be safe. Hoping for the best.

Plenty of legacy sequels are successful after failed or divisive remakes. Halloween 2018 and Ghostbusters: Afterlife being prime examples. It's kind of the whole point: Ignore everything except the well-loved original. But it's a moot point anyway, without Swayze.
That's one of the things that's great about them, and some other smaller labels. They still have that element of hucksterism that the big studios have lost. New movies, and real-world events, give a boost to older titles. Contagion shot up the streaming charts early in the pandemic. But did WB do anything special with the title on physical media? Nope. |

Yes! I pre-ordered this baby as soon as I saw it on the New Pre-Order and News sidebars on Blu-ray.com.
I especially like that the slipcover has the poster art from the theatrical release instead of the various front cover illustrations MGM has used for the DVD and earlier Blu-ray releases. (Side note/question): Does anyone here like the poster art more than those alternate covers? |
