Blade Runner alone makes Ridley Scott the hands-down winner against all comers. No one will ever top that movie for pure visual brilliance. The fact that he's gone on to do further astonishing movies just cements it.

I dig the shit out of Nolan for being a rarity among humans nowadays who actually want something real to happen in front of the camera but I have to give it to my 2nd dad James Cameron. I can watch a Cameron feature decades from now and the result of what creative work went into the film will still hold up, both in either appearance or the mood the said visuals set.
