OH HELL YES!!!!! Bring it! I've been chomping at the (t)bit for this one as well.

The only thing that makes me a bit nervous is my unfamiliarity with 88 Films' output in general, and they seem new to the 4k game. Fingers crossed! I have imported a variety of their blu ray releases for more obscure titles, which have looked solid so far, and they've secured a special place with me JUST for thoughtfully including the Italian mono audio track in their release of Zombie Creeping Flesh. That was a serious do-right move.

Awesome news. The 4k UHD transfer, if done correctly, should look much better than the blu ray.

Awesome, if quite a surprising choice for a UHD! I wonder if it'll be uncut this time. Both the 88 films and Shriek Show blu rays are missing bits and pieces (sometimes quite lengthy bits), though the 88 at least restores the missing frames from each cut that were missing on the Shriek Show. I posted a comparison on Youtube a while back that shows exactly what's missing from each blu.
Can't comment on the Severin blu as I don't have that one, though I'd assume it's exactly the same as the 88 in terms of missing footage.

The film is trash in many ways. However, there's just something about it... Maybe that says more about us than anything else. Give me weird shit over Citizen Kane any day.

(I wonder why we've never seen the full techniscope frame - hard matted??? If not but you can see crew, edges of sets etc, it'd still be a fun extra.)

there are lots of mute of sound trims in the negative but as far as we're aware they were never actually part of the final finished film.

We live in crazy times. Burial Ground and Zombie Holocaust get 4K releases and we can't even get True Lies and The Abyss on friggin' blu-ray, let alone 4K UHD.

Fantastic news for Italian trash lovers like myself, though. I assume Severin will release their own 4K UHDs in the US next year. I will most likely double dip; you can never have too much Burial Ground and Zombie Holocaust/Dr Butcher MD!!!
