FYI: Copies of this disc are already available in Scandinavia (my copy is from Denmark) and the disc will be released in Germany next month. The actual disc also has BBFC and IFCO classification certificates on it, so at some point, this disc should also get released in the UK and Ireland, as well.
I've not watched the disc yet (and I don't own the Scream Factory disc), but one difference is that Paramount's presentation is 1.78:1, not 1.85:1.

I really hate this new thing, regular catalogue releases being sold out within a year. They appear without much fanfaring, and fade out of existence without even a whimper before I notice that they've been made available.

Nope, still shows as unavailable. Not a one seller listed for my location, or all other dummy locations I selected except Germany and UK. The UK location shows the "This item is temporarily unavailable" notice so I suppose they simply won't deliver outside of Germany. This item therefore seems to be located in a warehouse which houses items that won't be shipped outside of Germany.
It has been rumored that Amazons currently display the "unavailable" notice instead of the "this item can't be shipped to your location" to avoid a flood of queries and complaints, so I suspect the UK related notice is not a matter or nonexistent stock. A pity, because this blu ray is fully english friendly.

I am having the same issues with several items (in stock for locals/unavailable to me) @ amazon US/UK
if I really want them Iīll always just order from somewhere else or go marketplace/ebay

If you go to the list of all Amazon's offers on the top right "Neu & Gebraucht (5) von 9,99€", it should then let you add it to your cart.

Well that's just it - the list is not there when using pretty much any location other than Germany/UK.

All sellers are listed under "See All Buying Options" but I've always intrepreted that as an item simply being unavailable if there's no button that mentions new or used offers which is shown in most cases, and usually the seller that offers the lowest price is automatically selected for the item.
I dare not imagine how many finds I've missed because of this.
