Safe to assume that it would be same studio canal restoration, that premiered last month in Cannes (didn't go, because there were no ENG subtitles on beach screening).

For the 20th anniversary of Christophe Gans’ Le Pacte des loups, rediscover the unabridged version of this movie in restored 4K Dolby Atmos. For this colossal enterprise, a 4K post-production supervised by the original film team was put in place. The unedited original negatives were sorted and scanned in order to reconstitute the movie in all its original glory. The special effects were reworked in 4K to finalize this new post-production. The original sound mix, of great quality, was reworked in Dolby Atmos.

Will this get a widespread EU release by another company in the near future?

Dolby Atmos remix ~ ?!? "hello !" the sound on the Canadian DVD was ungodly and damn loud and impressive. SOLD !

It seems like the blu-ray disc from StudioCanal had English subs.

Sorry guys but to my knowledge Metropolitan has never included English subtitles in their releases. They are actually part of those labels that use(d) forced French subtitles.

I think they did on their release of Silent Hill. And that may be it.

I have the French blu and can confirm that YES it has English subs.
IMO there's a good chance that they'll be ported over to the UHD.

Worst case scenario some muxing will be in order here.

The Blu-Ray was from Studio Canal, the UHD is from Metropolitan.

I had the 3-disc DVD that was incredible. I can't believe there won't be a 4K release without English subs.
