[PS5/Xbox/Steam]Persona 3 Portable/Persona 4 Golden/Persona 5 Royal

Video game news website Eurogamer reported on Monday that a press release shared with them states that Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal games are also listed for a release on PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. There are no release dates listed. Eurogamer did not specify further details regarding the press release.

Atlus announced during this year's live-streamed Xbox & Bethesda Game Showcase on Sunday that it will make its Persona 3 Portable, Persona 4 Golden and Persona 5 Royal games available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The games will be available via the Xbox Game Pass service, and Persona 5 Royal's port in particular will launch on October 21.

With Persona 3 it is difficult to have a definitive release. Persona 3 Portable changed a lot of things to the game to make it work on PSP like changing the gameplay to be more like Persona 4’s. But Persona 3 Portable added a Female Protagonist. However, you don’t get the Epilogue story from Persona 3 FES.

I hope this version makes the best use from Persona 3 FES and Persona 3 Portable since there is no need to worry about disc space anymore. Like make it into a Persona 3 Portable FES with the Female Protagonist but also FES’s Epilogue story.

That’s what I meant, they could’ve remade the game entirely (while keeping the artstyle), and combine the fes and portable content to make the definitive version (obviously remove the portable menu control and what not)

According to their new Persona site, 3 and 4 will be PS4 games as opposed to PS5. Of course, they'll still play on a PS5 but yea.

Yeah only Persona 5 Royal is getting a native ps5 version, which is fine imo, I don’t see an issue of old games releasing on ps4 only, it’s not like they’d get any improvement if released on ps5

P5R is 4k/30 on the ps4 pro, so it will be 4k/60 now, but besides that, I don’t expect noticeable improvements. load times are already quick

Just finished off my first run of OG Persona 5 on PS+ a couple weeks ago. So ideally would like to played Golden of Switch or a couple years down the line, interested in getting 4, 3 is a little disappointing around just being a portable port but we’ll see.

No Free Upgrade Or Discount To PS5 Version Of Persona 5 Royal For You - Atlus

During a Q&A between the Persona 5 Royal team and Persona Channel, one of the answers revealed that owners of the PlayStation 4 version of the game will not be eligible for a free or discounted upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version. Even if you own the game on the PS4, you will have to purchase the PS5 version at full price. Other questions on the form are in regards to the game itself.

Those familiar with the game from when it initially came out in 2019 may already know these answers. You do not need to play other games in the Persona series or the original Persona 5 in order to play Persona 5 Royal. There is a new third-semester storyline after the main plot, as well as new characters Takuto Maruki and Kasumi Yoshizawa. There are also new mechanics such as the Thieves Den.

Several other game companies have allowed PlayStation 4 users to upgrade to the next-generation console versions of their games for free or at a discounted price. For example, if you owned Star Ocean: The Divine Force or Atelier Ryza 2 on the PS4, you could get the game on PS5 for free. However, other companies did implement a similar rule for their games. Players who obtained Final Fantasy VII Remake for free due to having a PlayStation Plus subscription were not entitled to the free PS5 update.

Persona 5 Royal is available on the PlayStation 4. Persona 5 Royal will come out on the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch on October 21, 2022. Those with the Xbox Game Pass will be able to access Persona 5 Royal from that date as well.

Atlus were always greedy. I'm sure they'll do a single PS5 release for each title instead of one containing all three of them. Because ? More money of course.

I'm excited for the PC mods in Persona 3 Portable and Persona 5 Royal, especially the Community Enhancement Packs.
I really love the Community Enhancement Pack mods for Persona 3 FES (PS2 emulator) and Persona 4 Golden (Steam).

I just hope they eventually port Persona 3 FES to modern consoles and PC. Persona 3 FES and Portable are pretty much different games with the same story.
I am also hoping for PC and modern console releases of Persona 1 and 2 (Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment). But I think the older Persona games (alongside Shin Megami Tensei: if...., which they could remake as Persona 0) deserve full remakes more than plain ports, to tie in more with the soft reboot of Persona 3 onwards.

Atlus revealed on Thursday a new trailer for the remastered versions of the Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden games for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows PC. The video reveals that the games are now available for pre-order. The games will also be available in a bundle.

Atlus will release the games on January 19 in both the West and in Japan. Persona 3 Portable will additionally launch on Steam on the same day (the Steam version of Persona 4 Golden debuted in June 2020). The releases will be available digitally only.

Atlus released the Persona 5 Royal game for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, Windows PC, and Steam on October 21.

All three games will be available on Xbox Game Pass upon their launch.

Persona 5 Royal launched in Japan in October 2019 and in the West in March 2020. The original Persona 5 game debuted for the PS4 and PS3 in Japan in September 2016. The game shipped in North America in April 2017.
