Default Umma (2022)

So has anybody here seen Sandra Oh’s new horror film Umma yet? Is it worth a blind buy? I’m curious but the $17 price tag on Amazon has me hesitant.

I thought the story was interesting and performances are really good, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. It felt like it was trying to be a of things and neither of them work all that well. IMO it's not really worth a blind buy.

So then I’ll just wait for a price drop first.

It is on Netflix US if you have a subscription. I think this is the first 2022 Sony theatrical release to be part of the new Netflix contract.

I’ll watch it first, then decide if I should buy it, unless this goes on sale for a great price on Amazon.

I agree with this. I watched it on Netflix on Friday and found it to be okay, but not amazing. It's the kind of film that I would have been happy to buy from a Redbox kiosk, but I would have been annoyed if I'd paid full price at a brick-and-mortar store.

Shame, since it’s Sandra Oh’s first real horror film.
