Advice will become very unnecessary. Dented tin cans will soon cease to exist, other than inside museum dioramas. Wrappers that you toss into the recycling bin are in consumers near future, unless they like keeping cheap wrappers. Anyone got an old box of Wheaties sitting around? I remember a few who collected them. 5c336f6d3c00006c060f50e0.jpg Last edited by 314carpenter; 06-22-2021 at 02:25 AM. |

Can't believe I missed the Steelbook drop to $130 the other day. Had to of sold out pretty quick. I figured after it was sold out oh well I don't need most steelbooks. Then when I went to buy the regular version from Amazon for prime day today I saw that the discs are stacked. What a bunch of idiots. $255 MSRP product and they can't give each disc it's own space? Now I either have to buy the version I don't want or pay $250 for the Steelbook set.

![]() Anyways that regular set is only going to get cheaper and honestly if you found a good deal you could always put the discs into a $15 binder. I own and recommend the SANWA 104-capacity case on Amazon. Also, in the steelbooks, the 8th (and maybe 7th?) season has stacked discs anyways (because less episodes) so don't worry too much about missing out. I'm just gonna leave those inside as is because I'm not too worried about those ones ![]() |

Binder won't do me anything. I keep everything in cabinets. It's not the end of the world if 7 and 8 are stacked and the discs have issues. Seasons 2-6 are what I care about. |

You’re making a pretty clear inference: that customers are returning too many damaged cases and therefore companies will abandon them for cheap, disposable packaging…ergo it is the consumer who will be indirectly responsible for the loss of premium artistic packaging. That’s clearly what you’re suggesting, but you won’t own it. So should customers stop returning damaged products? Or should large, wealthy companies invest a bit more of their revenue into package protection for their expensive products? …in a sane world those would be the two choices. |

OK think about it.
How much do you think it really costs to produce these sets? Probably pennies for the plastic discs. How much for the SteelBooks? They aren't made of gold or platinum. It probably doesn't cost much to make those. Think of anything else that you buy in a tin. Like cans of soup? (first thing that came to mind) Do you pay $30 for a can of soup? Same with the outer case to hold the set of SteelBooks together. I doubt that costs much to make either. So I'm sure the companies are making plenty of money off of SteelBooks and SteelBook sets. I believe they are highly marked up so even after all the dented and scratched returns, the companies are still making plenty of money. They aren't losing money due to damages. I'm sure they take damages into consideration when they set the wholesale prices for these items. Just like various retailers take into consideration losses due to damages and theft. It's all built into the prices. Then the cost of losses and damages are written off by the companies through taxes. It's all covered. Nobody is losing money here. SteelBooks have been around for over 10 years now. If they were losing money on them then they wouldn't still be making them. If anybody is losing money, it's probably you guys, the consumers. The more damaged items are returned then the higher the prices go and the more you guys pay for them. So really the 2 choices are this: 1) Stop buying them. 2) Keep buying and crying. I think we'll continue to see all the crying. |

After purchasing the 4K steelbook set on release day last November, I realized I was missing a single disc from my set—S3D4. Luckily, it was just a single episode missing that I already owned on Blu-ray, so I was content with shooting Warner Bros. Customer Support an email for a replacement. I quickly got a robot response basically saying they’ll ship one out when they can. Here we are 8 and a half months later and they FINALLY sent a replacement last week—no email, no tracking, nothing. I was expecting a single disc replacement and they sent out a whole complete set!!!

Working my way through my BB Steelbook 4K set finally. All good except for a few episodes in S4 that stopped, pixelated, etc. I seem to remember in some previous posts of others having issues.
Is there any disc replacement on those, saw the above post on missing disc and wanted to see if anyone reached out to Warner and heard back. |

Apologies if this has already been answered but does anyone know if there’s much difference between the USA/UK sets and the ones available on Amazon France, Germany, Italy and Spain?
There’s a steelbook set on Amazon Italy that’s listed as French edition with Italian language. I’m basically looking for a steelbook set with English writing on the packaging (not the throwaway slip cover) and no hard coded subtitles. |

I wish Emilia Clarke would somehow return to the fictional role as Daenerys Targaryen in an HBO Game Of Thrones sequel (Might never happen). Of course the Dragon was not real, and she was flying around on a CGI computer generated Dragon that many people liked.

Not a steelbook, but I bought the complete 4K set from Amazon Italy a few months ago for just around £100, amazing value. It comes up as English 5.1 (plus there's a choice of all the other languages), & subs come up as English.
...I just checked & it's 114 euros on Amazon Italy, it's £183 on Amazon UK (it was over £200 a few days ago), & $211 on Amazon US. Last edited by CinemaScope; 06-23-2022 at 07:35 PM. |

BTW the 4k set is $158 on Amazon US for the US version which most would probably get. Maybe you didn't mean to post in the US version topic seeing as you live in London. ![]() |
