The action in the trailer looked interesting. Hopefully that wasn't all the action in the film, with 99% of the rest of the film taking place on the ground or in a war room setting looking at graphs and charts.

The theme of armed jets in the sky and the similar titles of Top Gun vs Top Gunner are too close along with the release date timing, even though the actors and stories are different. If it fell into the parody/spoof category, then it would likely be allowed to keep that title without any issue.

Maybe that's the angle The Asylum is taking all these years, despite having to change some titles in the past that were too close.

Something I noticed. The US DVD release of the first Top Gunner changed the name of the film:
