Wharfdale in years gone by were an excellent speaker and they might still be, but I haven't personally heard them in ages. Did you do a search on Google or "Bing"LOL...? What have you found so far?

I've heard them, and demo'd them. My son just got rid of a pair of 8.4's I believe. The speakers are very good - alot of people don't know that they are actually the entry level market to Quad. The shop that I frequent sells Whafdale and Quad. They are very good speakers but I think you should give them more juice than the 606 can supply. They had a Yamaha receiver powering the ones I heard and they were lean, put them on a Quad amp and they singggg!!!!! A very good speaker indeed.

Thumbs up I highly recommend Wharfedale Diamond's

Well, I can't find an official speakers page... so I guess I'll bump this thread. Seemed fitting

I picked up a set of 9.6, 9.1, and 9cc yesterday.....and all I can say is WOW. I'm completely satisfied with the way these speakers sound. Great bottom end, nice warm sounding speaker. Clarity is superb, the highs aren't overbearing at all, and just sound spectacular with all sorts of music.
I don't really see a lot going on with Wharfedale on these pages, so I just wanted to show I've got love for them!

Let me change that for you. The OP hasn't posted since 2009, so I know he won't mind!

Sound and Vision did a nice review on the Jade series in Sept. 2012. The article peaked my interest in these:

I just listened to the jade 3's. They sounded great. They are a really pretty speaker. Quite large. You feel like you are getting your money's worth.
I also listened to the Diamond 10.1 and 10.4 and couldn't believe how much bass they produce. The 10.4 is a small speaker but the bass impact is impressive. I actually checked the sub's in the room to make sure they weren't playing.

Just have a "quick" question.
I am looking to replace my current 5.1 setup (Harman Kardon HKTS18) with the following,

Diamond 10.1 fronts (possibly 121s depending on when I get to purchase)
10.cs Center (again perhaps the newer center 101c)
2 10 sx subs

Questions
1) Do I replace the CS with another 10.1?
2) How would the two sub system improve or detract from my 1 sub setup now? (current sub is listed as a 10" 200 watt sub)
3) can i drive all this with a Marantz SR6006?

I am thinking about adding surround speakers later (or moving the 10.1s to the back and getting larger fronts - at which time I'll have to look at the power issue again)
Still new to good speakers, so just wanted to get some advice.

Thanks!

Either way you decide to go 10.1 or 12.1, ideally I'd use one of those for a center. I'm sure the cs would be a great sounding cc, but it would be spot on with all 3 speakers in your front stage to be the same. If you plan on upgrading to towers eventually, I may stick with the cs center.

As far as using 2 subs, I'd highly recommend that for optimal bass response throughout your room. I don't know your room obviously, but IMO, and experience, that's what I'd do. Using a second sub will give you on the average a 6db increase over a single sub. In turn, you won't have to run the subs as hard either.

And from what I read on the Marantz, that looks it would have no problem whatsoever driving the speakers you mentioned.

if i could, id say try and buy the 122 and 102c speakers, i think you might like the extra output and bass those 3 speakers would give you upfront. jmo.

Thanks. I've been looking more and more at the 100 series - not sure if I have the room for the 102c though. Could probably go for the 122 instead of the 121s.

Any idea as to when they might be available here in the US?

Funny that you mentioned that. I just emailed them this morning to check.
I'll post back here when I hear something to let everyone else know too.
