Default Star Trek 2009 release date

http://fr.blu-ray.com/movies/movies.php?id=5852

Is the US date going to be before November 17th or do we have to wait that long as well? It seems soo far away

I doubt it will be that far away in the U.S. Probably Sept/Oct.

Seeing as France is soooooooo sloooooow at getting releases, I'm pretty sure the US'll get it in September or October.

It's usually about 4 or 5 months after the theatrical release. I think September or October is a good guess.

Since season 2 of Star Tek is coming out in sept. I think it's safe to assume that the film will come out at the same time or a week or two later (like they did for season 1 and the original crew movies).

October should be right. Gives the movie two months to make big bucks in DVD and Blu.

Definitely between late September and early October because since Star Trek and last year's Iron Man were released in theaters around the same time (Iron Man on May 2, Star Trek on May 8), and since Iron Man was released on Blu-ray on Sept. 30, 2008, Star Trek would definitely be on Blu-ray around that same time.

It's not like back then (VHS) movies came out almost a year after release dates.

5 or 6 months to release a movie these days on video is pretty fast IMO.

using ironman as a guide same studio close to same theatrical release date
we should see the blu-ray on Sept. 29th or the 22nd if we behave :-)

I think last I heard, the release was set for late October, I think it was the 27 or something along those lines. The thing that bugs me is if you look at Paramount's track record in the past few years, they seemed to have some of the shortest windows, but this year it seems longer.

Aren't they the studio that released Cloverfield in mid April after a mid January theatrical release? And didn't Transformers 1 come in mid October after an early July run? The list goes on, but this year they're taking their time.

I saw the movie in IMAX; but watching the trailer on Blu-ray with each of the ST movies and the ST OS Season 1 first disc, it looks soooo much better in blu than in the theater.

I reckon, like the Special DVD release Apollo 13, they should release the IMAX version and the Theatrical version.

Release in theater was second week of May, usualy it's 4-5 months for a release on DVD or BD, I would say expect it late September early week of October.
