Is it region free? If so, I'll grab this soon since I'd much rather have it in a normal case than a digibook.

Yes, it is region-free. The extras, however, are in PAL.

Be aware that the UK release DOES NOT contain a lossless audio track, only English DD 5.1. The Warner U.S. release contains an English 5.1 TrueHD track. There are also slight differences in extras (besides the fact that the US are NTSC and the UK are PAL). See the link below to read up on the differences:

The French version is in an Amaray, includes a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 English track, but is locked to Region B.

The Japanese release is a Warner release, and appears to be identical to the U.S. version, but with no digibook.
