And – shades of Burton's Edward Scissorhands – topiaries in the shape of a giraffe, a dodo and other creature
And ancient rickety iron fences, shades of Nightmare Before Christmas.
And Johnny Depp as a pale frizzy-haired Mad Hatter, shades of Sweeney Todd.

...That's why Tim's so pale: He's always resting comfortably under his own shades.

Oh, and:
Quote:
There is the usual Burton-esque ghoulishness (Helena Bonham Carter's Red Queen, whose favorite retort is "Off with their heads," has a moat filled with bobbing noggins),
Um, noooo, that was the Queen of Hearts--"Looking Glass"'s Red Queen was overbearingly bossy, but unconcerned with craniums, although that may be just adaptation license.

(Although, to be fair, the Disney cartoon did the same thing in reverse, giving the QoH the Red Queen's line of "What do you mean, 'you've lost your way'; all ways here are my ways!")

What the hell did they do to Johnny Depp!? I know Burton; I saw that Willy Wonka movie that he made, and he kind of over-did it. I hope he doesn't overdo Alice in Wonderland next.

I was really looking forward to this. Now, not so much, as this looks just like an over done Willie Wonka.

Is it just me or in the pic, instead of looking like the Mad Hater, Depp look like a lead singer from some new wave band of the 1980's from the UK???

He looks like Elijah Wood...
This looks like a horror version of Alice in Wonderland.
Anyways, can't wait to see this.

Personally I would rather see Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll. What is Phantasmagoria you say? Check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantas..._Lewis_Carroll

Hopefully it actually gets made though. Im not really a big supporter of Marilyn Manson, I have two of his first albums somewhere in my car, but I find something about this idea for a movie very haunting. If Manson can make movies like he *used* to make music I'd say were all in for something very unique.

I'm a big Tim Burton fan, but I'm afraid this is overkill and too dark and nightmarish Oh well, I'll just have to wait and see.

Hahahaha, why can't Tim Burton do it fun and bizarre instead of creepy and bizarre?

I really liked Elijah Wood in Sin City even though he doesn't have any dialogue in the movie.
