Default Science of the Movies

I found this show while scanning through my new found HD channels on the science channel. If anyone is interested in movies you'll find this show to be informative and some what entertaining.

The host can seem a bit childish at times, but the people he talks to is worth watching the show.

Out of the few episodes I've seen, he's spoken with the studios behind the effects of True Blood, Dexter, and a few others. The visit to Gentle Giant Studios was also pretty cool, it showed how action figures are made. One of the more interesting segments were the talks with Panavision and their historic cameras along with their newer digital ones.

Anyone seen this show? It's now one of my favorites.

This show sound's interesting. Unfortunate I don't have The Science Channel on my cable package. I hope that Discovery Canada HD pick's it up so I might see it there.

It's exactly the kind of show I'm interested in watching. Anyone who is technical and likes movies should enjoy this show, some of the greats behind movies like iron man and some of the classics like blade runner.

One of the coolest things that I failed to mention in the opening post was the Lola effect. It's basically a digital age reducer and it showed how it took 20 yrs off of Ian McKellen.

Another spot showed how the fangs from True Blood were conceived and executed. It really shows how much effort went into that and I appreciate the show much more now.

I love these type of shows. I know many people feel knowing stuff like this and how they do it destroy the magic of the movies but never for me. I am always curious on how they do these things and I am always amazed at how sometime it actualy so much more simple then I tought it was.

If you search, you may be able to find the shows viewable online.

What ruins a movie for me is not caring about the characters. The stuff they discuss in the show is very well put together and only makes me appreciate it more.

We all know the fangs in True Blood are fake, but I didn't know that they modeled each actors set of incisors to get a custom fit per actor/actress That kind of info makes me appreciate it much more. Plus, how seemless it looks.

Is this technology they're going to use on him for The Hobbit?

I find this show extremely interesting, but I really don't like the host.

I feel the same way about Brink.

It may have been....the entire setup is actually quite sweet. I can imagine how much time went into creating the software, however they made it easy to use, they took about 5 yrs off the host of the show in no time. Very cool stuff. This means Al Pacino can make more movies

It's an interesting show, but the host is incredibly annoying.

It shows up on my cable guide thing (whatever you want to call the on-screen guide) as Science AT The Movies, for some reason.

I don't think he is that bad for what he is trying to do. Either way, this show is awesome! I'm about to watch tonight's episode right now!
