The 88 one is a coaster before it’s even released.

(I know some people won’t mind the enforced cruelty cuts on the 88, but I presume the Grindhouse will mirror previous releases and offer the option.)

Yep. Zero reason to buy a cut version of a video nasty.

Didn't 88 say it would be uncut this time?

I think 88 is a bit better than Grindhouse, but of course they're region B land and sometimes UK cuts are there.

88 can't release it uncut due to the animal cruelty, it's a law in the UK.

Not that I in any way, shape or form support animal cruelty, but their version is technically "cut" and therefore yeah...a coaster.

This is one of the sickest, most depraved, morally indefensible movies I have ever seen.

I am absolutely picking this up Day One!

This is nuts. I mean, I knew this would come eventually but I don't know how much of this good news I can take. Crazy day for announcements.

I know. I have almost grown to dread new announcements. I just know Vinegar Syndrome's 9/1 drops are going to put the final nail in my bank account's coffin. Time to hit tha streets and put that azz to work!

I believe it was House on the Edge of the Park, not Cannibal Holocaust.

I have the Grindhouse Blu, and...yeah, I'm okay with that. Granted it's mostly because I'm being a lot pickier about what I'm double (if not triple) dipping on for UHD than I was during the DVD to Blu era where I rebought a huge chunk of my library. I'm sticking more with movies that I love and garner repeat viewing and/or the quality of the current Blu is such that an upgrade will improve my enjoyment - neither of which Cannibal Holocaust falls under. It's not exactly a "good time watch" that I return to again and again. Still great news for big fans though.

This speaks volumes to your depraved moral character and lack of prioritization skills. Retro-cannibal gore is all the new re-rage, very en vogue again for 2022. With the higher cost of food these days, it's no wonder people are reconsidering the more practical implications of the genre. It's also fine Italian art. And think of all the cannibals out there, as an insular social and dietary class, that could be butt-hurt by your potentially insensitive post. Do better!

Now, where's that Cannibal Ferox 4k announcement???!!!

I had a feeling once 88 films announced their Cannibal Holocaust 4K Release a Grindhouse announcement wasn't far behind. I think more UK bluray collectors will buy the uncut 4K version.

If they include Deodato's special edition cut that re-edits the animal cruelty scenes. That would be a great alternative vs the awful "cruelty free" version Grindhouse created.

My swedish BD is missing a little from the ”road to hell” sequence, will that be included here?
