Default Polk Monitor 50 Maple

I have been looking for a maple monitor 50. My son took a fork to my speaker and I need to replace one. Does anyone know where i can find The whole speaker at. Or any Ideas on what to replace them with, on a budget.

Is the damage to the veneer or the speaker cone. If its the speaker cone, get in touch with Polk dirrectly. A few years back I had a pair or Polk towers and one of the tweeters started buzzing (blown). I called and talked to one of the service reps and he took my info and sent me a new tweeter. NO CHARGE, NO-SEND OLD ONE BACK, Just a box with a tweeter in it. Needless to say I am still a Polk owner and very happy with my new Monitor 70's.

the speaker is broken beyond repair.. Do you think it would be worth it to upgrade to monitor 70s or 50s will do the trick been debating that for a while. I am happy with 4 monitor 50 for front and back. I was thinking that buying monitor 70s and put them in the front and use 50s for surround. But its like 600 dollars vs. 100 dollars. That would be a 500 upgrade is it really all that worth it???? Or do you know where I can get a good deal on some monitor 70s.

You can get the 70's from NewEgg for $229 each.....a very good price....

and the 50's for just $100 each!

By the way, I hope your son knew that what he did was very, very bad!

I agree definately check out newegg for Monitor series best place by far. About 2 months ago I got an entire 7.2 setup for right around 1000 bucks from them, thanks tax refund, with free shipping I would say to give them a look.

Thanks a lot. I just called Polk and they said they would probably replace the speaker for me. If they do I will never buy another speaker unless it has Polk on it.

That's awesome news, congrats. That is also good to know, as my 4 yr old daughter knows to stay at least 1 foot away from the entire area, but I now have a 3 month old boy, so here I go again.......I am sure your son could see the pain in your eyes when you saw what he did....

I dont think he did, he had one foot on the speaker on the floor and a fork in his hand.... It reminded me of a captain morgan commercial. Either way it was depressing but replaceable.

Wow, sounds like he tackled it first, and was about to go for the juggular! I guess you now know he can handle himself pretty good, LOL!
