Default blu-ray.com Recognition Of It's Members thread

Thought I would start a thread for those who would like to show their appreciation to a fellow member who has helped them out on this forum. You might just want to thank that member for simply making you feel welcome, or maybe show your gratitude to a person who has helped you solve a problem, or pointed you in the direction of a bargain buy!

Sure, you can send them a private message, but I think it would be nice to show everyone else how that one member (or more) has helped you and it gives you an opportunity to give him or her the recognition they deserve on this site

I will start by thanking Marine Mike for his helpful advice recently. My laser is broken in my PS3 and, apart from his great guide to replacing the laser, he didnt hesitate in sending me a private message when he saw I was having trouble after I posted the problem I was having. He has even offered to send me a laser as the person who he recommends buying from doesnt ship internationally. Marine Mike would always offer whatever help he can, and it is for this reason that I would him to be acknowledged as one of blu-ray.com's invaluable members!

So please, let us know who you think is invaluable to this site, or let you know about any member who has gone out of their way for you

This is a really delicate thread you started here G (Monkey-boy) and I'm somewhat hesitant on answering for fear of leaving someone out. So many members have helped me out and given me great advice. Some of those members are no longer with us, but there has been an influx of good people lately who have a genuine interest in our collective hobby. How do you rate one over the other? It can't be done.

I will say this however, and this is where I put myself on the line so to speak, that there are 5 people who have had the most impact on me during the time I have been here. And they have impacted me for different reasons. They are (in alphabetical order): Big Daddy, Dobyblue, JasonR, naturephoto1 & richteer.

There are a few other people as well with whom I've had personal dealings thru PM's, trades, offers or gestures in good faith, etc....and they know who they are.

Like crazyBLUE said (but in my words).....this site is phenomenal and it's my favourite place online to be.

John

How about me? Without me, the monkey himself probably mightn't even be on this forum. C'mon, give me a little credit.

i haven't "interacted" with all of the mods on here yet (and it's good to see some of those that i haven't are still getting recognized by others in this thread), but out of the ones that i have, i would like to commend 4 that i constantly see actively taking part in discussions and consistently helping out members (including myself on many occasions): qwiksand, jw, betaman, and jasonR.

like john said above, this is a delicate thread because i don't want to leave anyone out--many of the mods do a great job on here--but it is these 4 that ive communicated with the most during my time here and i've seen constantly participating and/or assisting members in the areas that i frequent.

i also want to recognize the member Greenscar, who spends a good deal of time bringing all of us in the movies/tv forum the latest in entertainment news...he has been a valuable contributor ever since i joined and i always look forward to his threads

above all else, all the members on here make this forum awesome...even the ones that like to whine and complain...you guys keep it interesting

Iceman of course, he's very helpful to anyone if he has the time to be.
Especially since he changed my name from Blu-Man88 to Diesel for me

And of course GreenScar
we all know we love the guys threads
He seems to spend a crap load of time looking for the newest movie stories and the breaking news.
I know I appreciate it because I don't have to devote as much of my time to looking up news, I usually check his Threads Started page once a day or so.
We've also had many a good discussion.

I'll also throw ol Sussudio in there for almost always being the guy who tries to calm threads down and give a level headed point of view on the subject of most threads.

There are more I could mention, but i'll stick with three.

Most of the members are pretty great here imo. We have a nice little 'online community' here.

Thanks to...

Sussudio, for being my go-to guy when I have a (usually stupid) question about a movie — whether it's something to do with a release date, playback issues, or places to buy.

jwbbud, for keeping me in check in a friendly when I get too off-topic or inappropriate with my posts.

silversnake, for taking the plunge on my custom Mini Marquee/Blu-ray case holder. First customer!

JJxiv1215, for keeping the velociraptor love alive.

BluCheez and PitbullMike, whose home theater schematic diagrams they allowed me to design (check 'em out in their galleries; they're pretty cool).

Big Daddy and Rob J in WNY, who helped me decide on how to configure my new 7.1 setup (sorry no pics yet. I'm working on repairing some sheetrock before posting the pics of the new setup).

All the guys in the Mac, iPhone, and Wii threads who love to put on a good chat about those topics.

To the random guys whose posts I generally enjoy reading and responding to: toefer, jkwest, DrinkMore (we had a good one with the "Big Bang" a while back), Teabaggins, and many more...

Last year a kind member mailed me some of the Best Buy Magnolia coupons with no compensation. I know he was from Minnesota but I forget his username. So I salute the unknown gentleman.

Yeah I think it could be a handy thread for everyone to see who is helpful or whatever.. If someone does something good for you or sorts out a problem, just to this thread and post your experience with that member!

Thank to Iceman too actually! Helped me out recently
