Anyone have an issue with this unit and playback of dolby vision 4k discs? The video stutters during playback every 30-45 seconds or so, and with this unit you can NOT make it switch to HDR10. It defaults to Dolby Vision. HDR10 only discs playback just fine.
The latest disc is DOG SOLDIERS from Second Sight. I'm using it with a Vizio V705J03 television. Thanks, Win |

(because if set to Auto the player may have trouble locking in the cadence for the disc despite the fact that this should not be an issue). I have found that this player will slightly flicker with 1080i/50HZ 25 fps Blu-ray discs when played here in the USA. Setting the Resolution to 1080i fixes the issue as the player no longer has to work to find the cadence for the disc. You may also need to select 24Hz in Display Mode Don't know if these suggestions will help at all, but when having an issue, try everything that might help. |

Thanks for those tips, I'll try them out tomorrow, and see if they have any bearing on this issue. Much appreciated.

I have this player as well and the most prominent issue that I encounter with it is that it will completely freeze usually 3/4 of the way through whatever I'm watching. When it happens, I have to completely power it down, restart it, and then hope the disc has a resume feature. I haven't encountered the video frequently stuttering that you mention though. Only other issue I have with it is that it vibrates rather loudly to the point where I need to close the door on my home theater cabinet (which is fan-vented, so it's fine) to muffle the sound.

Ok, something very odd is going on with this player. This morning I figured I would try the changes that SMOOT suggested. I moved the unit back to the living room, from my bedroom where I was testing it with my second tv. (before it occurred to me my bedroom set doesn't do Dolby Vision lol)
So I plug it in, turn it on, insert the Second Sight edition of Dog Soldiers in 4K. 1. It plays back perfectly, no stuttering effect. 2. GO into to the settings and check to see how it's set. 3. Resolution is already set to 2160p, and Display mode is already set to 24hz. 4. Start playing the disc again, and the stuttering is back. WTH??? 5. Turn the unit off, playback again, and playback is PERFECT again. WTH? Not sure what is happening, but I'll test some more discs today. |

I have mine connected to my Vizio OLED and haven't had any issues with the player at all.

I have a UP970, I had to make sure that the player was set 24 hz, and that the HDMI input Full UHD Color was off.

Same. Only issue I have is it freezes on DVDs when rewinding. Other than that it has handled everything I have thrown at it.
