I purchased a copy of King Kong from Amazon.ca and received it today. The top right corner of the case had a few cracks in it like there had been enought pressure on the case to do damage to it. Either way I returned it to Amazon.ca for a replacement. Do you guys do this to?
I mean the movie obviously would have worked perfectly etc but I am a collector and that doesn't really sit well with me. I understand that there may be things on the production line that happen that cause a case to be imprefect like little wrinkles in the clear plastic that holds the art etc and leftover glue residue from security seals etc. Those I have no issues with. It's the thinks like torn slipcovers, cracked cases...you know things that are just the carelessness of someone accidentally damaging the case that bug me. Anyone else here like this? |

I bought from amazon a few months ago B2G1F Mission Impossible 1-3 and 2 of the movies had creases on the artwork. I returned them and got another shipment and still had the same problem
![]() I'm more anal with the artcover since I know I can replace the BD case easily. When the cases start getting beat up I simply replace them. |

I can accept a little tear here and there on the artwork where the sticker sometimes gets it. What I hate is cracked cases and that's why I have replacements ready if I need to swap them out. Other then that, I haven't found anything that irks me.

I'm fussy about it to a certain degree because I'm a collector. I have one case where a corner is chipped off that I didn't send back, thinking that was a bit too 'light' to complain about. Otherwise, with scratches on case, covers, or inner cases broken, I would send them back for a replacement.

No, not unless the case would not stay closed.

When I buy a Blu-ray, I always try my best to get a perfect case. If there's a dent in the cardboard on a slipcover, it sucks, but I accept the fact that dents in slipcovers are inevitable. You would have to keep them suspended in a zero gravity chamber to keep them mint! However, I am extremely careful with the cases and the discs. I go ape sh1t if somebody lays something on one of the cases or lays a disc upside down on the entertainment center.

I like to pick out the nicest release. Somehow I managed to miss an imperfection. My Matrix digi has a little indentation on the cover. Not sure how I missed it. I didn't feel like driving an hour to get a replacement. |

![]() As for cracks in the cases, that wouldn't bother me as long as they close properly. |
