This show will finally get started tonight on the FOX network. My only question are how many episodes have been filmed so far and should the show not get picked up for another season, will everything that has been filmed so far be put out there for us to see?

If it's on Fox, you can almost guarantee it'll only last one season. Half of that season will be shown in the incorrect order in various different timeslots, at which time it will be cancelled, & the rest of the episodes will be unceremoniously dumped online or on a random streaming service at an undisclosed date in the future. Fox is the best network!

The title also runs the risk of people expecting the upcoming Godzilla spin-off TV series based around the Monarch organization.

My favorite thing about the first episode of the show is Trace Adkins being a lead character on the show, but I do have to give a salute to the other cast members who were given a chance to sing on the show. The "How Do I Live" duet was most definitely a standout.

I watched the first episode as I like country music & I like Susan Sarandon, but honestly I'd be amazed if this even did a full season. It's complete cheese & certainly no Nashville (which it clearly wants to be).

Sarandon & Anna Friel aside, the acting's largely terrible, the cinematography is ugly, the writing feels like it's just ticking off cliches, the twanging guitar on the incidental score is beyond parody &, even though it's set today, the costume designer seems to have just dug into all the worst country music fashion horrors from the 70s & 80s.

The only minor upticks for me were that there's some decent songs in there & it was nice to see the lovely Eva Amurri briefly playing the younger version of her mom again.

^^^ I get where you are coming from where the clothing choice is concerned, but I guess the costume designer went with what we are seeing the cast members wear because they want the viewers to know that country music is what the characters are all about. You don't see cowboy hats in any other musical format.

According to this write up here, over five million people tuned into this show. 3.8 million watched the first airing and 1.5 million watched the encore. My only questions are what does that mean? In other words, are those numbers good or bad?

Usually a minimum Network order nowadays is 10-13 Episodes, BUT if they havent filmed all 13 by time of air date and the ratings tank, the network could decide to stop production at 8-10 prompting a rushed wrap up of the series. Being that its Fox they have more leeway with seeing how a series performs over a season as opposed to CBS,NBC,ABC.

Trouble I see is that were already at least 2 or 3 of these post Empire that tried to do the same thing and none got past a season.

If the show stays in its timeslot for at least 4 weeks without moving or preemption you might have a winner, but we shall see won't we.

^^^ According to the write up that I shared in my previous message, I believe that at least six episodes have already been filmed. I hope that they are all shown because I would hate for all of the hard work to go to waste.

Anna Friel, Susan Sarandon & Beth Ditto all do their own singing. Friel & Sarandon have both sung on stage or screen before. Ditto is a professional singer (formerly of the rock band Gossip), so presumably the acting's more of a stretch than the singing.

Episode 2 had 1.72 million in the overnight ratings, compared to 4.03 million for the premiere of Episode 1 (which also had an encore right after, and another encore mid-week).

Overnight ratings come out around noon the next day for shows that aired the previous evening, so 1.72 million viewers watched the Tuesday night broadcast of Episode 2.

Tonight's show was good, but what I would love to know is what secret Ace is aware of. With there being so many being acknowledged, I have absolutely zero idea which one he was referring to. I am guessing that maybe he witnessed the shooting that took place at the beginning of the very first episode?

Last night's show was really good and my most favorite part was hearing Trace sing "Friends In Low Places" and what he had to say about the awards is true. At the end of the day, sitting on a shelf is all that they are going to do when the music is what should always be the top priority when the music is the reason why you are given any award show glitter and shine to begin with.

P.S. I do have to say on other thing though. I have to disagree about letting things in the past rest where they are because in my opinion certain things or people should never be there in the first place. Earlier this year, I officially discovered a person who has been gone for over three decades now. To me, this late beautiful precious masterpiece of a gentleman should still be here to this day, I love him so much.
