Thinking of getting this steelbook haven't seen this movie since the 80s and don't remember any of it.

The contrast is nice, though the blank inside is strange since they know that blank interiors were something they did a while back (before they figured out they could print on both sides). Unless "blue fog" was someone trying to be clever.

For the ones that are straight matte (other releases): has anyone tried a careful application of a brush on gloss sealer?

I've been asking that a while and haven't seen anyone do it, but if you can paint a car you can paint a steelbook. Even a rattlecan clearcoat could look nice if applied correctly. All the people that complain about matte should be the ones who give it a try.

This release seems to have low distribution, my store with 4 Dracula copies had 0 Fright Night. Surrounding stores also seem to have lower total quantity on hand compared to Dracula.

You know. I just might try this on one of my older matte blu-ray steelbooks that I don't really care about anymore. I'll post pics if I do.

People have done it on this forum before... It's been a while since I've seen it done though. I think kryptonite1970 used to do it all the time. You just have to be light with the coating.

Got mine today. No dents! the 4K disc was loose inside, but no scratches on a cursory examination.

Pleasantly surprised that this is a 3 disc edition with an extra bonus features blu-ray. Looks like an upgrade all round over the prior single disc blu-ray releases. I need to watch this in 4K.

Thanks. Those examples look really cool. I'm definitely going to do this on some of the matte steelbooks I own that I don't like.

I just picked up a copy at my local Best Buy. It appears to be mint. They only had two copies. I'm surprised they weren't scooped up by the time I got there. I guess the fact they were still in the back and hadn't been put out on the shelf yet helped.

Truth be told....I actually prefer the Eureka steelbook since its glossy and has the title on the steelbook itself.

Still...glad to have it in 4K, nonetheless.

Mine should be here Thursday, but honestly if they put out a standard release later I’ll probably sell this off and pick that up. Don’t want to risk missing out on the UHD though as this is one of my favorites
