For spoiler leaks on God of War R, unless I missed something, I only saw some screen shots of the game play, and a scene where he's fighting someone.
Something I'd expect from any preview screen shots and hardly what I would consider spoilers compared to what happened with GTA6. Now that was a major leak. This just seems like nothing IMO. |

Although I kind of have an idea what the game will be about anyways it's more of a super DLC followup. Definitely glad I heard they improved the Gore,Violence compared to last one. Also It will look like Horizon Forbidden West graphics wise not exactly full next gen gameplay yet but still the most epic single player Playstation game since Ghost of Tsushima for me. From a business point of view, there are still 300 million PS4 players waiting for new games, so it would be bad business to completely ignore such a great audience. That said, we're not going to see the full potential of the PS5 for the majority of games this generation it seems...... Oh well.

As far as sales though, 300 million PS4 consoles vs 3 million PS5s or so.... |

Cool. Not like you forced this one out 500 times before, but as mentioned PS5s are still difficult to find in retail stores. My Job had them for like a day and have yet to get them back in. And if it was PS5 Exclusive, an entire market just isn't getting to play it, that's not a good business move. But Ragnarok has PS5 enhancements such as 120fps, but calling it "Not Next Gen" just cause it's on PS4 too is a little too much, at least I heard it functions great on PS4 too.

I went onto some stores online, and the only chance to have at getting a retail priced PS5 is through a waiting list, which even that says there is no guarantee you'll ever get a PS5. That's scarce indeed. I'm lucky I got mine at launch.
The whole industry is struggling for the new generation without enough consoles out there readily for everyone. While I'd love PS5 specific games made only for PS5/XBSX/PC, (and thankfully there are some out there, mostly smaller studios or rare AAA studios like Gotham Knights), I completely understand why God of War R is going to be available for PS4 from a business point of view, but also a huge fanbase point of view. Those are a lot of loyal PS4 gamers who can't get a PS5 but still want to experience God of War on their PS4s and PS4 Pros, understandably. At this point, I understand why the developers are saying it's going to be cross platform for years to come with PS4 and PS5 versions of the same games. But yes, PS5 is the ideal way to play games if gamers are lucky enough to have one, but mostly for fast loading, 4K resolution (which looks great) and potential 60 fps, which is really smooth as the three main advantages to PS5. Raytrace reflections? I don't count that as a game changer at all so far. It's a nice graphic effect, but serves little more than that in games other than slowing down the frame rate. |

And Graphical differences from PS4/Xbox One to PS5/Series X|S is not even major at this point. Maybe if they start throwing more intensive stuff like actual water physics, it's not going to be noticeable. I noticed more games having more framerate options on Series X for sure when they were limited to 30fps on Xbox One, that's a good benefit alone. Raytracing is neat but I'm not sacrificing framerate of 60fps just to have it if the game does it

I suppose not. But you would think with that large of a userbase, a game like Miles would command a much higher attachment rate. What the number tells me is people are ready to move on. Sony should be too.

PS5
Units sold 21.4 million (as of July 29, 2022) Units Shipped 19.3 million (as of March 31, 2022) PS4 Units sold 106 million (as of December 31, 2019) Units shipped 117.2 million (as of March 31, 2022) I really thought the differences were larger with PS4... Only 106 million consoles sold out there. Of course units sold doesn't mean those are all in the hands of actual gamers. The resellers seemed to get most of the units, probably like 60% or more it seemed. It was a nightmare trying to order a PS5 back in September 2020 and total luck to get through that first day/night and beyond. They say with the script bots overtaking the websites with super fast sales compared to any human. |
