Not who I would expect. Hope he can lay into the visceral carnage of the series.

Hollywood has been trying to get in on the Gears action since 2007 when New Line briefly nabbed the rights. The Netflix deal must be particularly satisfying for film head Scott Stuber, who was attached to produce an adaptation when he was an independent producer in the mid-2010s. That iteration was set up by Universal but never got past the screenwriting phase.

A movie, interesting. That planned Halo movie turned into a live action series not long ago I hear.

I hear Xbox MS is bringing Gears of War series to Playstation 5 soon. As Xbox folds under the overwhelming pressure of PS5's reign. I'd prefer a generic console like movies with blu ray, DVD or UHD players. Imagine if a movie could only play on a Sony UHD player? And another movie only on Xbox? It's an unnecessary war and loss of access for the consumer if they're not buying every player available, or in this case, each console just to play exclusive games.

Heck yeah!

I love Gears.

This being a Netflix movie does have me a bit worried, though...

They don't have the best track record when it comes to sci-fi, but if Leitch directs it, I have some hope.

I hope they nail the look and feel of the series.

It’s a nice thought, but it is a fantasy because it’s never going to happen. Just like there being no more rich people and no more poor people and everyone being on the same level financially, it’s nothing more than a dream of a perfect world that won’t ever happen. 2 close friends of mine I’ve had to pull back from because 1 has become an extreme leftist feminism, and the other a red pill extremist, both basically have been brain washed by over use of Facebook and TikTok algorithms. The one that’s an extreme leftist feminist has the view that society should heavily tax the rich and give it to the poor, and pull down the rich to average levels and prop up the poor to average levels so that everyone is on a level playing field, and then the world will a be better place. It’s nice in theory but the idea is nothing more than a silly fantasy.
