What's with all the weird, anonymous brands on Amazon?

Why the hell can't I find a ****ing brand I've ever heard of?!

Those are likely all from China. Probably the same parent company for many of them.

What I have noticed is if you see brands with random letters thrown together as you have done in your post, those are China. Chances are if you click those names you will see their business address as Shenzhen China.

There were a few China brands that were banned from Amarzon: TaoTronics, Mpow, RAVPower to name a few for trying to buy positive reviews.

I do have a pair of TaoTronics wireless headphones and they work superbly and a Tribit XSound Go bluetooth speaker that sounds fantastic so not all of the China brands are a bust.

Amazon has become a wasteland for knock off china junk unfortunately! I won't buy from Amazon unless it is sold by them. I try my best to not order from resellers who love to load that site up with the copy and paste product from china.

Alright, got an email from TaoTronics support telling me one of the items I wanted was out of stock so they are cancelling and refunding. But they didn't specify if they are cancelling my entire order or just the one item. I'll wait a couple of days to see what happens and re-order the rest of the items I wanted.

Pretty fast email from them. I placed the order last night and got the email a few hours later. Not too bad so far.

Sometimes taking a chance on a product from over there works out.

Long: Here’s my story on my Tribit XSound Go purchase. My first one I purchased for like $25. Figured I take a chance. It came and the speaker kind of crackled a bit. I emailed support and they sent me another unit and we went back and forth. Eventually they refunded my purchase and let me keep it. That’s great customer service to me. I did throw out the speaker because it just wasnt great.

Fast forward another year and the upgraded version with USB-C came out. Ordered that one on sale also for like $20 and dammit if that speaker doesnt sound so good! I am loving it with my Fire tablet.


Now, my TaoTronics purchase went through but they did refund me for the out of stock item and the refund has already hit my PayPal. The other two items: a cheapo soundbar for my laptop (which youtube reviews say is good and should sound better than any laptop speaker) and a heated blanket are on the way via UPS Ground and should arrive next Wednesday.

I have noticed this too. I'm pretty sure all those products are made in the same handful of factories in China. It makes shopping on Amazon annoying because most of the time I just want to see classic name brands that I'm familiar with instead of some random sweat shop junk.

Amazon (and these days Best Buy and Walmart allow anyone to have a marketplace some of these, like others have said, are Chinese or international brands. But the reality is anyone can go to a manufacturer buy a bunch of things and ask them to be branded as Flomnop, Yamscum or Jombacludmus and open a kiosk on amazon and sell them.

TaoTronics did refund my one item and it has already hit my credit card. The other two items shipped with a UPS tracking number showing delivery on Wednesday. Hope it makes it here in one piece!

So far so good with this purchase from a company who was banned from Amarzon for trying to buy positive reviews. LOL dumbasses

When you see a name next to SOLD BY that you don't recognize, click on it. Chances are it'll have a Chinese address.

Alright. Got my package the other day.

The soundbar I got was the TT-SK027 model. So far, the sound quality is nice. It only cost me $28.25 so it will be money well-spent if it lasts. It can use some more bass and my laptop EQ can only do so much in that department. Very clear sound and no distortion even when blasting it at uncomfortable levels. This is just for my laptop because my laptop speakers are terrible but this soundbar is leaps and bounds better when listening to MP3, Spotify, Pandora, YouTube, etc. Movies sound pretty good, too. Dialog is clear.

I also got an electric heated throw for my couch which appears to be working just fine. Pretty toasty under there when watching movies.

I wish they didn't do shady crap on Amarzon but it is what it is. I'll shop there again when the price is right and the pair of headphones I wanted comes back in stock.
