Probably pick it up as a burgeoning Argento completist.

Anyone see it? Seems like the reviews are in the “best Argento movie in years, but not great” category.

I've never watched the Shudder stream. Is it dubbed in English? The Italian blu-ray only has the Italian audio.

Thats probably the best way to describe it. It's not terrible, but it's not a return to form either. The music is good & the acting is good from the lead. But the story is pretty weak. Overall, I enjoyed watching it. It's still available of Shudder if you wanted to check it out before buying it.

It's indeed his best movie in years, but I was disappointed overall. It starts off great but then kind of goes downhill from there. It's better than Giallo or Dracula 3D, though.

The music was the best part IMO. There were two scenes specifically (one with snakes and one in the woods) that annoyed me cause of how awful they were.

But yeah…I’m with the general consensus of best Argento in quite sometime but a bit disappointing once the credits roll.

I have Shudder through AMC+, but it should be the same as the standalone Shudder service, and it's only available in Italian. Not sure if the BD would be any different.

It's nothing groundbreaking, but it's a good, solid film with some charming characters and a bangin' score.

The worst thing for me is that they revealed the killer too soon, in my opinion, taking away all the fun and mystery, plus no motivation is ever given as to why he does what he does. The climax had potential, but it was botched, although I did appreciate the nod to Phenomena.

I'm wondering if this will also be released on 4K. Being his newest movie, this would be the easiest to release on 4K. Since we're even getting Four Flies and Five Days on 4K, the move to release this only in a 2K format are baffling.

liked the music and main actress, who has a very life-like performance, in the typical neorealistic style of italian cinema

Also liked the attention to detail to the low vision aspect.

overall was for me a 5.5/10, decent enough.

the italian bluray I got has only italian audio but with english subs, and also has audio description for visually impaired in italian. The Pq and AQ are decent, and has a 5 minute behind the scenes featurette.

As far as I know, Shudder has never put out a title in UHD (at least not in the U.S.).

I haven't been able to quickly confirm if Dark Glasses had a 4K DCP or not.

It’s actually pretty great. When you realise the whole movie is written around a very meta set piece which the back of your mind clicks on earlier but then dismisses as a possibility. I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time as when the penny dropped for this one.

I actually didn't remember that until afterwards. The first thing that came to my mind was the "Dickie, attack!" scene from The Beyond. I didn't even see the trailer. I bought the movie blind. It's cool to have, but it's definitely not a return to form for Argento.

I don’t think an English dub even exists? I’m kind of surprised Argento filmed this entirely in Italian - his only other theatrical film besides 5 Days to do so, correct?

I bought the Italian BD so will probably stick with it. I liked it but not enough to buy it twice
