I enjoyed it more than I thought it would. It felt like a super-sized episode of 911 on FOX. It could've been trimmed by 15 minutes or so. The entire cast is gorgeous, it's action from beginning to end, there's not a lot to dislike here.

Also I was SHOCKED that the end credits are only 2 minutes? That has to be the shortest end credits in awhile.

That seems to be Michael Bay's thing now. The credits for Transformers Last Knight were 2 min or so in the theater. It was changed to a slower, traditional credits crawl for home release for some reason.

Nice to see Bay's dog getting a prominent role.

Nitro is the best on screen doggie since Olivia from Game Night and Widows tbh.

MB's been casting his dogs for years: Mason the mastiff was in Transformers (getting washed by Sam's "Bros before hoes" friend Miles). Bonecrusher was in ROtF and DOtM. According to Twiki, the dogs died in 2007 and 2016, respectively.

I don’t know what Mikey’s “sthick” is but I’m sure it’s big like Mason.

“Shtick” or “schtick.” Or sometimes “shtik” or “schtik.” But not “sthick.”

Something I said clearly triggered you.

Profile stalking your post history?! Don't flatter yourself. I'd read both threads and seen both posts, and they seemed to conflict, so I drew attention to that. But thanks for taking almost 4 months to reply, though.

jesus...

Sorry for letting that little thing called 'life' get in the way of replying to you sooner dude

Anyway... glad to clear up the confusion for you. Some folks like myself grew up with a bit more of a kid-friendly portrayal of Batman and prefer action movies aimed at adults to be a little bit more real-world based and not just copying the Marvel formula.

Finally got around to watching this last night.

To preface, I've never really understood the hate for Michael Bay. To me he always felt like a Tony Scott Lite (though not nearly as great). Though, Bay has stumbled later in his career more than not.

Needless to say, I thought Ambulance was really awesome. The action was exceptional, and they managed to make a pretty thin concept feel fleshed out. The movie was longer than it needed to be, but at no point did I feel like it dragged. As an action fan, theres not much I can say when it's essentially a 2 Hour and 10 minute long heist/car chase scene.

The trio of leads were all solid with Gyllenhaal being the stand out. He's plays the bad guy role really well.

I didn't expect to like this nearly as much as I did. I went in at least expecting a decent action flick, but I honestly walked away really enjoying this one and will gladly give this a re-watch in the near future.

It was alright but dragged on way too long and the drone shots are already overused.

I enjoyed the first hour or so, but then the really ludicrous stuff began. Gotta confess, I had no idea that this is a Michael Bay film until I got here today. Had I known, I would’ve probably skipped it, because I am not a fan. Lady Lemmy has the same opinion on this one, too. We were not amused. Two stars.

Apart from his propensity for misogyny and vulgarity, one of my biggest complains about Bay has always been the ridiculous overlength of his films. Well, this does rectify that last one. It’s fairly lean for a Bay film.

Michael Bay (explosion) has misogyny and vulgarity in his films; in which films? I haven't seen all of his films, but I don't associate him with that sort of stuff, he's not a Game of Thrones/Yellowstone/Wolf of Wall Street type

...all of them? You'd have to be BLIND not to see how crassly sexist, racist and homophobic the majority of his work is.
