I'm looking forward to this season. I'm hoping the Raiders will at least show SOME improvement. Also, getting a HD DVR in my room will make the season even better.

hahaha I was expecting these response, but not so soon after the post!
I think they'll do better this season, but they're very young and I don't anticipate .500.

Hey, I feel for ya!

I am a LONG time Cowboys fan. Remember the 1-15 season? I do!

Do you remember who the Cowboys sole victory came against in that 1-15 season? I do!

I was the Washington Redskins. If the Cowboys are going to win just one game in a season, guess who I would want that win to come against? You guessed it: the Redskins!

Ironically the Redskins went on to win the Superbowl that year.

Heh, I'd of figured it would be the Eagles you'd want the win against. Here in PA (I'm NOT an Eagles fan) the saying is "As long as we beat the Cowboys its a winning season"

The Raiders' past few seasons have sure been a test. Only the real fans still watch every game, like myself.

Well, I do hate the Eagles (didn't used to) and their fans. Ever since they CHEERED when Michael Irvin was taken off the field on a f*cking stretcher! Don't get me started on those idiot fans (I know I shouldn't paint with such a broad brush, but I can't help it).

Yeah, thats pretty much what drove me away from even occasionally rooting for them. I refuse to be associated with people like that. Clapping for an injury is low... but a broken neck is just wrong. Having my football career (although however abrupt/short it was) ended in HS due to multiple injuries makes me HATE those that cheer for injuries.

Besides, most Eagles fans are band wagoners. They can go F off.

And that injury was pretty much the end of Irvin's career too.

Football injuries are far too common. I had a friend who played football for the Colorado Buffaloes and appeared to have some potential (tight end). Blew his knee out his second year and it was all over.

My most hated fans are Raider fans. Last raider game I went to was a Monday night game in San Diego (season tickets). We won of course, pretty much embarrassing them nation wide. When walking down to the parking lot after the game, I remember quite clearly some LA gangbanger making a ruckus, and then shouting from the top of her lungs although we won this time, next time they'll bring their guns do drivebys in the parking lot.

It's funny though, as when they lose the raiders fan's turn their black and silver shirts inside out to hide that they are fans.

Most Raiders "fans" aren't fans at all. It is just an excuse to show up at a game and act like idiot criminals. Many of them don't know crap about football.

Yeah, a broken neck is pretty much impossible to recover from. Sure you can play, but you get hit hard, you might be paralyzed for life. Not really worth the risk.
Knees were my downfall too. I had 5 surgeries in 1 year and still had to call it quits. To this day I still have ligaments torn and no cartilage.

I hate people like that that call themselves fans. They are NOT fans. What you encountered was a piece of $h!t just looking to start trouble. I'm sorry you even had to deal with people like that. Most Raiders' fans are cool. They'll take turns buying rounds of beers, tickets and snacks. You just gotta find the REAL fans.

Sadly I've only met one or two Raiders fan's that care about football, and that I'd have a beer with and watch a game with. The LA mentality has pretty much stereotyped raiders fans for the negative.

On the flip side, one Redskins game that was one of the best games I saw played in San Diego had the most decent fans I ever met. Although they lost, all of them commented on how great of a game it was. The feeling was mutual and all of them thanked us for such a great game..

Unfortunately I agree with you. The true fans, The Raider Nation, apologize for those tool bags.
