Default how many movies can you watch in a day? (movie marathons)

Was watching this very entertaining video about a middle-old age man who decides to watch movies during 24 hours without sleeping, all the movies he can watch in that period with only very short breaks to eat, drink coffee and I'm hoping, go to the bathroom.

Made me ponder for about 10 seconds if I could do it, and while I got no doubts I could sleep for 24 hours, there's no way I could watch movies for 24 hours without sleep, but I reckon I could watch 8 movies, if I didn't have a family or any kind of obligations, and probably Id have a lot of fun.

but those are hypotheticals, could or would've, in reality I think my movie watching record is 4 movies in 1 day when I was a teenager.

Whats yours? anyone here who would try and document this 24 hs experience watching movies ?

Probably 2 or 3.

Recently, I binge watched Kleo on Netflix, which had around 8 episodes iirc!

I once managed to watch 4 movies in one single day, but it's unlikely I would do it again.

3 movies. Any more than that and they start to blur together.

I think I've done 5 in a day, but I'm so wiped out from work these days I don't think I could do more than maybe 3 on a weekend day. Every Friday the 13th I plan to marathon the first 8 movies, but I've never actually attempted it.

5-6 is pretty standard at many movie festivals. At Telluride, screenings start around 7:45am or 8 am and the last showings are at midnight. Fun times!

I’ve done a whole season of 24 in one day a couple of times before, and that was a slog (not the show of course, 24 is great). Started at around 6am and finished around midnight.

2 when I was a teenager, now in my mid 50s I can barely get through one without falling asleep. Sometimes takes me two or three attempts to see all of one film. But it's rare I can get through the whole thing in one sitting.

I watched the first six episodes of "Wednesday" in one sitting, a couple of weeks ago. That's been my longest for a while, but I usually watch "Lord of the Rings" every year, and that's about 11 hours.

yeah, actually I remember going to the sitges festival in the early 90s and watching like 6 movies in 1 day, in an actual cinema, not in my room. and I seem to recall there were troma movies because Lloyd Kaufman presented/introduced several movies, like the toxic avenger.

Reckon a festival its a more conducive environment to watch plenty of movies in one single day.

I remember going to many dusk to dawn shows at local drive-ins.
It usually was 5 to 6 movies that started around 7 pm and ended around 4 am.
Couldn't do it now.

If it's a lazy Sunday or other day off, 5 or 6 movies easily. A workday, 1 or 2 in an evening.

My life is so bland I pretty much just work, watch movies and then sleep.

I usually watch 1-2 movies every work day, and then 5-7 movies on Sat/Sun each day, which is much less during football season.

Heck, I take a week off of work and one time in the nine days off, I logged over 80 movies.

Currently on my 859th film of 2022.

during a virtual festival, i could and have watched twenty movies in a weekend. (but i’ve also done that just for fun lol) when some of the movies are short, i was able to max out at ten in one day.

running times help. it’s easier to watch more if the movies are sub 85 minutes (and you don’t watch the credits). you get a ton of older stuff on tcm that can be in the 60-80 minute range. it also helps to know what you’re watching and spending a ton of time between movies waffling and what is next. (or if you’re just going through the screwball comedies or film noir block on criterion channel) or even if you’re watching a ton of old roger corman produced movies.

i remember the first joe bob marathon on shudder, i wasn’t able to make it all the way without dozing off a couple times. i think i fell asleep during blood feast for a little bit and dozed off during pieces at the end.

i’ve done the friday the 13th marathon of the first eight movies. it does takes like twelve hours. it also gives you a whole new perspective. part V really isn’t that much different than the others (other than 90 seconds maybe).

Well, I watched the first three Die Hards on christmas Eve consecutively, and then on Boxing day I watched Cobra(a christmas movie kind of) and then Beverly Hills Cop 1 and then 2.....so I know I can do 3-probably 5 at least.

I'm pretty sure the most I've ever watched in a 24 hour period is 3, but that hasn't happened very often. These days, it's 1 or 2.
