4. The Descent
5. 28 Days Later (IMO the best "horror" film of the last 10 years)

I hate grouping in genres so this is a little broad.

The Thing
The Shining
Sunshine
Funny Games (Import only for now)
Let the Right One In

Let me just say that the Saw movies (the first few, at least) look absolutely terrible on Blu-Ray.

If you can find the Let the Right One In with corrected subtitles, it is a great movie.

I totally agree about 28 days later, one of the few movies I've actually found "scary" in the last few years. The Descent had a few jumps for me as well but I thought it was kind of overrated.

I watched the original Dawn of the Dead on blu recently after hearing so much about it...man that was lame. Just a joke pretty much. I mean I understand that for its time it was probably pretty out there, and there's the social commentary aspect but...the new remake is way better.

The Thing for sure. And The Shining.
30 Days of Night is a great blu as well, although it seems hit or miss with folks, so rent before you buy if you have never seen the flick.

I like the Original Night and Dawn of the Deads, but George A. Romero is by far the WORST popular director of all time. I don't believe for a second that he intended any of the 'social commentary' people say his movies contain.

The Mist is way up there. It had some of the best acting I've ever seen in a horror movie.

Here's mine based on my collection (not in order)

1. Friday the 13th (2009)
2. The Mist
3. The Descent
4. Mirrors
5. Dawn of the Dead (2004)

Out of those 5 movies... I'd say The Descent and Mirrors are scary as hell

Others
.
The Thing
The Shining
Friday the 13th 1, 2, or 3
Hellraiser
Saw 1-5

Coming soon:

Freddy vs. Jason
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
